    Just got my first MV!

Bleed and inspect. Replace anything questionable. These trucks have a single circuit system. Any leak or failure loses all your brakes. I've done it at highway speed. Once. It was more fun than anyone should be allowed to have.... Which fluid is in them currently?

    Just got my first MV!

Did you get a cargo cover with it? That looks like a fantastic truck. The winch really adds to it. I prefer the manual transmission in the 809 series to the 939's automatic. And that NH250 sounds a lot better than the 8.3 liter school bus engine in the M923A2... If you go to sell those...

Putting larger tires on the deuce using stock rims...

My understanding is 11.00 NDTs don't rub the pivot. My experience is 11.00 G177s do. Other people have posted they've used 12.00s without problem.

I think he can get away with 12.00R20s.

Cummins NHC 250 versus Cummins 6CTA8.3

I've had bunches of trucks of each type. 8.3 gets better fuel mileage. My almost 40k wrecker with the 8.3 gets substantially better fuel efficiency than my 23k M925 with NH250. 8.3 holds speed better when already at hwy speed and hitting a hill. Loaded heavy and slow, off road? NH250...

    Aftermarket alternator

This has been resolved - I got an original alternator thanks to @Jbulach . I'll leave it up as someone else looking for which one to use can find the 28si info.

    Aftermarket alternator

I messaged him a while back on the topic. No reply. He hasn't logged in since November. I'm kind of worried about him.

    Odd rear light issue m35a2

I'd start by cleaning the grounds.

    Spot Sand Blaster

I did an entire 939series truck using the smallest harbor freight pistol type sandblaster. I started with the idea that i was going to touch up the front bumper, and before I knew it i was finishing up the rear bumperettes a couple weeks later....

I need some feedback on the value of my '87 USAF M35A2C

More like $12-17k in my opinion. + a value enhancement since it comes from the deuce doctor.

    Horn Upgrade

Thanks! My HMMWV horn is anemic and only works sometimes. I really should replace it... but a K5LA just isn't in the budget. You really think that one reaches the advertised 150dB?

    Aftermarket alternator

No trips planned, but I'll happily buy it from you and pay shipping. I'll send you a PM with my number... Tha ks!

    Aftermarket alternator

Good information, thanks! I'm not really concerned with much beyond getting something for the belt to ride. My use case for the wrecker means it's almost always at 1600rpm anyway, and it can even stay plugged in when parked.

    Aftermarket alternator

It wasn't really a friend. I don't know the guy. The deal was he'd give me the old failed one. I was going to put the bad one on my truck simply for a place holder to give the belt something to ride, and keep the batteries charged by means of a charger. The guy ghosted me. I don't really...

    Aftermarket alternator

    24si says it's 12V. Maybe 28si? Whatever this one is -

    Aftermarket alternator

Farmers in KS use 939series trucks as silage trucks. One of them had an alternator go bad last fall and needed one right then. I sold him the one off my M936A2. So now I need one for me. I seem to remember there was an aftermarket option that wasn't terribly expensive and wasn't a particularly...
