    Bringing My MV Home

I don't stop at weigh stations. I've done a lot of long road trips in heavy MVs, including an M936A2 from NM to KS a couple of years ago. I did stop at a weigh station years ago when I first started doing this stuff. They stopped me and did a full commercial inspection. Their justification was...

Did you lift your bed when you added 16.00's?

It's less work and a better outcome to go to a thicker spacer between the bed and the frame, or adjust the bump stops. Or don't worry about it. You have to twist it up pretty good to get bed contact. A 4' deep ditch between the road and my field isn't sufficient to cause contact with 16.00's...

    Tow Bar: Storage Location Question

I've seen brackets made that mount it transverse across the front bumper. I've seen brackets under the bed. (Out of the way until you need it, then awkward and difficult to reach.) I've seen brackets on the front of the bed, and also on the dropsides. As for me, I can't decide what to do...

Colorado Springs, pick up and hold a 90lb safe

I meant to win a truckload of safes and only won one small one. It's hardly worth the fuel money to go there to get just one - trip cost > total value of safe. Anyone close by willing to grab it and hold it until my next trip? I don't expect free. Cheap would be nice.... In exchange for...

A Hens Tooth Up For Auction

It could be construed as collusion and lead to prosecution of those involved and liability to the site owners.

I have this one.... far away and probably in your "way overpriced" category. But late airforce truck with dual circuit brakes. I drove it to KS from NM last spring.

    GovPlanet Cranking on Dry/Drained Engines???

Claim against GP is valueless. Their ironclad guarantee is absolutely worthless. One example of many - machine showed running with oil pressure of 50psi in the auction, when picked up had an empty crankcase and would not run when the oil was replaced. Response- "too bad". Figure that any GP...

    GovPlanet Cranking on Dry/Drained Engines???

There's enough residual oil in the bearings that a few cranks isn't going no cause detectable harm. Thing is, they'll run them with no oil in them also. Ask me how I know......

conversion of 4 batteries to 2?

Yeah, it's 1/0. But there's certainly no harm going heavier. I used 3/0 for my pickup. I have 2/0 and 4/0 new that I'll sell for less than current market if you end up needing cable.

24 volt harbor freight jump starter

My 6.2 starts instantly. Probably on the first revolution. On the topic of jump starting a 24v vehicle from a 12v vehicle, it can be done by hooking to just one of your 24v vehicle's batteries. Usually this is sufficient. If boosting one battery is insufficient , you can jump your 24v...
