Any ideas for stickies re.: CAD/CAM AND 3D software/hardware.

Seems like newbies like me might benefit by standing on others’ experience re.: platforms to purchase and software to utilize and companies to trust with production. Maybe something similar to TM’s on military vehicles. I need to design a simple flat HMMWV dashboard, and I’d love to transfer...

    Dog is my copilot

We all love them. Many of us have them. Let’s start a post of us in our favorite rigs with prize pooches (and all other four legged friends). Working dogs, service dogs, pets… they’re all welcome. To get us started, this is my husky in my 1995 AMG Slantback Hummer. I will swap in pics of her in...

    Strange Crank No Start Condition

If you’re getting fuel to the IP and not getting fuel to the injectors, only two things comes to mind. Bad fuel cutoff. Bad IP. I feel your pain.

Purge water… bad Diesel fuel??? Possible but lower in the probability column.

    Injector Problem?

The Detroit can do something the new Diesels can’t do… run on vegetable oil and bioDiesel. The lower compression IP can tolerate the higher viscosities that the newer 10,000 PSI IPs cannot.

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

Clean up the oil catch we call a catalytic converter. Back pressure from that causes issues. HummerH1 and I cleaned our multiple units up and they run like scalded dogs. MPG also improves.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Decided not to spend $2k on half doors. Made ‘em for less than $60 apiece. Handles and strikers being delivered. Windows coming later.

Log of my M1165. Project Joshua.

Guyfang reached out to me. Update… Worked with Eric Hummer H1. Then did a bit of offroad. Transmission pan fixed. Wiper arms sourced and wipers placed. Windshield sprayer replaced. Genius Box glowplug button mounted firmly, b-pillars and covers reinstalled, along with reinstalling shoulder...

Loosen the bolts and make sure brackets are loose. Muriotic acid 1:3 ratio. At least two hours. Then wash and place in oven at 200 degrees for an hour to remove the acid. Then penetrating oil and heat alternately.
