Hummer1 used a cheap 24-12 volt inverter to use the existing wiper system. I also recall what RWH recalls about a Jeep unit.

This might be an issue with the solenoid. Also these are sealed units to allow for driving and starting while submerged. Dust builds up and might interfere with Bendix function as dust cannot escape over time. Opening the starter and cleaning it out might help.

These parts don’t mix and match. They are alternator specific. If you have a dual voltage alt, odds are you need a N3135 Neihoff regulator. They are pricey. Don’t buy the knockoffs by Wolfer on EBay. Get a real unit.
