What have you done to your JEEP today

Been cleaning up the floor pans and rear area the last few days. Ended up taking out the fuel tank (once I pumped a good seven gallons out) so I could clean up the mess of dirt and sticks that had been deposited there over the years. Definitely not the cleanest work to be doing, that layer of...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I've been doing random bits the last few days, a LOT of bolt cleaning and tearing more apart. Cleaned off the battery box cover today, why, not sure. I've ran out of primer and am down to my last rattle can of OD! Painted the shiny chrome covered turn signal yesterday. It'll wear off quick I'm...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Thanks! It was in dad's "collection" when he passed lol. I just opened the hole up and installed a heli-coil so it would actually thread on, the threading was a little worn out. I have a practice pineapple grenade I was going to use, but I don't care for the angle of it, doesn't feel right. So...

What have you done to your JEEP today

This is more like this weeks work. Dash is painted and back in. Relatively close on gauge faces, painted the trim rings, figured chrome would kinda stick out like a sore thumb. The fuse panel tucked into the glove box, all unnecessary loom is in the negative space behind the light switch. One...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Thanks, I figured they were since, well, everything else is OD!

What have you done to your JEEP today

Thank you again, I'm just doing what I can in the time I have to finally try and make my A1 pretty again. I like the shiny button too, although I can see it most likely being OD. I imagine I'll just leave it. I did some more work on the cluster and gauges today and prepped the surround of the...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Is anyone still keeping track of what day it is? Now the dash is disassembled, stripped, primed and repainted. I'll do the instrument cluster soon. I now have a greater understanding of what dad did during his time building both of his trucks. I've cleaned up more threads and bolts than I ever...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Day whatever of stay at home because of scary virus. I couldn't stand to look at the silver that someone else had decided to spray all over the engine bay. So, I tore everything apart! I have no rhyme or reason to my disassembly, I'll do a little bit at a time. I'm in no hurry, so I was only...

What have you done to your JEEP today

It went straight to the machine shop, so it got the hot tank. I didn't have to do much of anything. Funny part of it all is I got back from machine work in Dec of '17. It sat in my shop with a not very well sealed bag over it with only a little bit of WD-40 coating the cylinders for almost two...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I found it not even 20 minutes from my house after looking for a good month for a donor block since the previous one had a crack stemming from a valve seat. And thank you, I did the paint. This is what it looked like when I picked it up.

What have you done to your JEEP today

Well I've been busy since I have to stay home. Cold set valves today, buttoned up the inspection cover. Did the air filter a few days ago. Finally moved it into the shop, and now I'm going to regret starting this project lol. I don't honestly know how or why, but the air filter probably had...

What have you done to your JEEP today

It's been painful to say the least lol. This one is May '53 delivery date and it's in pretty decent shape. Granted, I don't know how bad the body actually is, but for all I can see it has good structure. I'm definitely antsy to hear it fire again, it's only been 5.5 years since it expired on me.

What have you done to your JEEP today

I'd say merely the angle because it's nothing major by any means. I guess viewing all those Instagram posts are paying off though!

What have you done to your JEEP today

Finally been able to get moving forward on the engine build. Been a long two years since the machine work was done. Now, it's clean threads, tap holes, dry fit parts, order new ones that I thought I wouldn't need (because none of us know that feeling lol) and just be happy that I'm seeing progress!

    My first running M38A1

Mine is tagged May '53 with the diagonal fender and the thumbscrew battery cover. Unfortunately there was no body tag behind the seat  Currently my engine is out and slowly (like December molasses) being put back together with no end in sight.

    M20A1B1 Bazooka Question

Naturally, I'm booked that day, go figure. I'll honk if I'm not in my Monte, you'd be hard pressed to hear it even if it did work.

    M20A1B1 Bazooka Question

I'm going to stop and see you in September! :) I've been rolling through Atlantic the last 5 years on the River to River cruise. If I'm not tapped to lead again, I would stop in a heartbeat. The likelihood of that happening is pretty low unfortunately since I'm on the Board of Directors...
