I was unable to get any power from my MEP-002A without flashing the field. The generator doesn't hold any magnetism that I can see. At this point I just might try and use two large capacitors and use them to control the field. A lot of cheap generators use that system. You just need to get the...
I haven't worked on my generator project for several months now (trying to get the deuce ready) . I'm beginning to wonder how the SX460 handles the flashing circuit. Does it ground the signal ? If it does that would explain the overvoltage I kept having. I have also fried over three SX460...
My only suggestion would be to add/edit the "SX460AVR" to your thread title so others quickly spot what this modification is intended to accomplish. Also it might make it easier to locate later on when doing searches for information using this particular voltage regulator.
That makes good...
This is the finished reconnection box. The diagram is how I connect the main generator cables to the TB2 buss bar. This is a "double Delta" configuration allowing the maximum use of the generators potential. To avoid confusion I used the actual cable numbers in the diagram instead of "T1 T2 T3...
That is what I have found when my generators went wonky ! I would get 150 volts at each leg, total of 300Volts . The lights where really bright though !
There is no reason NOT to use the systems diode. I was removing and rewiring wires today in the control box and the flash circuit is easy to keep. In fact after you remove one unneeded wire from "TB5" to the diode you just reinstall the flash circuit wire. Almost as if it was designed this way...
I'm having the same problem too Dave. I already bought a SX460AVR . Today I'm finishing up gutting the control boxes. This is the third CVT-1 that has taken a dump on me and I'm done with it.
