Does anyone know the bolt size for a 1009 alternator, specificly the driver side alt. the is on the firewall side? I can get a 16mm socket on it but i read somewhere it should be a 13 mm. I have cranked on the bolt and the spacer is seperating a bit. I know this is a starter thread but ive...
Has anyone installed a Katz circulation tank heater in their M1009? Can it be done correctly? I purchased one of these units and it is not working properly. If anyone has any input that would be great a pic of your installation would be better yet. Thanks in advance yellas.
I just pulled the starter today to have it rebuilt. I noticed that I don't have the shield on mine. anyway, I disconnected the batteries first, then I had to disconnect a smaller red wire which appeared to have been connected to a blade terminal and it runs up the back side of the engine.
Now...
Kinda stupid question, but are there just the 5 grease fittings up front on the m1009? I searched the 2320 and only seen the 2 on the driverside and 3 on the passenger. for some reason I thought there were more.
This just happened out of the blue this morning: started M1009 ok, turned on the heater fan and the Gen 1 light came on but no heater blower. I know to check the fuses when I get back home but the question is, why did this happen. If I remember correctly, I read a post somewhere that stated...
My neighbor recently purchased a m1009 that has been converted to all 12 volt. He askedme what the com port under the dash was for and I told him. Then then question was posed: Will the ste-ice work on his now 12 volt truck?
I would guess not due to himonly having (1) alt., (1) battery or am I...
Has anyone ever converted the old style hmmwv light toggle swith to the new touch style. I guess I should say swapped out. Do the wires still connect the same way. I am trying to replace the left lower toggle or find a new one, the lower broke off and the headlights wont work without it...
After replacing the dash bulbs and dash panel, I accidently touched the voltmeter to something and it sparked and now will not work. I know, "always disconnect the batteries when working on electrical", but I had a brain fart. I remember reading somewhere how to do a simple "fix" but I can't...
While watching American Pickers Monday evening, I spotted a M1008 that was parked on the street at one of their stops near the "Hollywood" sign. Just wondering if it was someone's from here.
I came across this product while searching for "automotive screws". I believe the "Max-nut" would work very well for mounting antenna hardware and the like. I know I had a heck of a time getting riv-nuts (thanks 319 for the assist on them) I just thought I would post this in hopes of helping...
I won my M1009 in November, my EUC was approved the 2nd. week in Feb. and pick up was 4 day's after. On 03-10-10 I recieved my SF97 along with a Florida Title  Went to the County Title Office and was told I needed to have the Vin# verified and vehicle inspected. This was done at a...
Ok, I was at it again today couldn't leave well enough alone. Here are my problems: I replaced all dash lights and used steel wool on the copper contacts and got everything nice & clean; re-assembled and now I have dash lights.
Now the problem: I lost use of the voltmeter, gas gauge won't...
Got a question? Today I was tinkering. I pulled the instermment panel off to check bulbs. As I was putting the panel back in place, I noticed a small grey wire off dangleing. I believe it came off the light bulb socket for the voltmeter but it looked like it simply broke off or pulled out. I let...
