i justified replacing a near new set of 46's on my 'burban with a set of 53's because i really need some new tires on my bobbed deuce. they don't fit very well cuz i haven't gotten the sawzall out yet (lazy), but they sure make the 395's on my other deuce look small... and i needed something...
well i did it again. there i was just playing on the internet when i bought an m109 from GL the other day. couldn't resist it, price was right, so now maybe i will turn my m35 into an RV. will post some pics as soon as i get it home, but i got a hard top, cab heater, air shift, and who knows...
is anyone familiar with exactly what GL means by mutilation required? i have put in a phone call (with no answer) and read the crap on their website, but it's kinda sketchy. sounds like a PITA. there are remnants of a few deuces in Lousiana coming up for auction, but they all say scrap and...
last time it was a rat under the hood. shot a hole in the fender, but i got him. this is what i found yesterday. upon first glance i found the shed skin that measured just over 5 feet! a closer look and i found the snake. took a while to get him out unharmed. after a few pics i let him go...
bought this truck from some guy near austin, tx. already had a few mangled torque bars in the rear so it was kinda obvious what needed to be done. and i wanted a bobbed deuce anyway.
now that i've been edumucated on how to post multiple pics i thought i'd show y'all some of my engine swap. the original engine had a dead miss, and rather than fix it i took my chances with an engine i won on a GL auction. i was the lucky one that bought this engine for $310 plus the normal...
i'm not sure of the interest in this, but i saved the title and VIN plate from a deuce that i parted out. it is a texas title, and i never bothered putting it in my name. it was on a 1957 truck mfr by Studebaker. have matching title and vin plates. PM me with offer if interested.
am still tracking down the demon in my latest project duece. still have a dead hole, lots of fuel smoke under throttle, and oil leaking into the exhaust, but no blowby. have replaced all the injectors, lift pump, and now the turbo. have decided it may be time to pull the heads and replace...
just purchased and brought home duece # 8! it fired right up with fresh batteries after sitting for two years. seems to have a dead miss, turbo is leaking oil into exhaust, exhaust pipe is red from excessive heat, and pump looks to have been turned way up. found an extra injector in the tool...
finally got some motivation to get my most recently acquired duece to run correctly. originally had to replace injection pump and suspected a mistake in timing was causing the engine to run at full throttle. after coming dangerously close to scrapping the truck i found the throttle stop on the...
just bought my first 5-ton last friday when i was supossed to be at work. haha... i know nothing about these other than they're BIG! the one i bought looks like my old m-109. that is, it has an enclosed box on the back. i'm wondering if anyone might know approx. how much this thing weighs...
wanted to say hello to everyone here, and introduce myself. new to this site, fairly new to the mv scene. just took delivery of my 7th duece! got into these things while building a suburban with the rockwells. no worries, i didn't cannibalize any good trucks to bulld the 'burban. have been...
Just took delivery of duece #7 and am having some trouble getting it to run. this is supposedly a 1969 model, with the NA multifuel. was not getting fuel to the injectors, so i swapped the injection pump. timed pump according to some instructions i found in an old post, but truck is hard to...
