I spent most of yesterday going over an M108 locally. It's in remarkably good shape, though I couldn't check either the winch or crane (no hydraulic fluid, but no visible leaks.)
It hasn't been on the road since 2007 and was recently purchased a few months ago from auction by the county that...
I've got a deal on an M200 with mounted boom, but it hinges on transport from Fredrick, OK to NNJ. Departure and arrival dates can be flexible. I can also make a part-way trip if someone can get it back east a good deal of the way. Could be a tow or haul. Yes, I've been trying UShip but so...
I've seen a lot of the posts on making this swap but I can't seem to locate any photos. Could someone post some or point me in the right direction to find them?
And if someone knows the 1061 rim width for tire mounting, that would be great.
Wondering about downsizing tires to something like...
I can't seem to determine from the TMs how the axle section between backing plates is constructed. Illustrations suggest that it's a hollow tube with pretty much nothing inside.
Can anyone tell me if that's correct or if not, describe the innards or post a few photos? I'm thinking of reusing...
Don't wanna start a HF bash up, but . . .
I went to pick up an air compressor last night and while we were loading it, the seller noticed a HF jack stand in the van. He cautioned me and recalled using a set of Chinese-made stands some years ago. Apparently due to a bubble in the casting, one...
This just popped up on another thread where Aervoe 24087 turned pink, so I have an excuse to post this. My truck was Aervoe 383 when I got it and it was distinctly pink-ish. So was another freshly surplussed Air Force Deuce. It's popped up here with other paints that claim they're mil-spec...
Trucks Needed: High Point State Park, NJ May 31st, 2 p.m. "Salute to Veterans"
Each year, on the traditional Memorial Day weekend, the Sussex Elks sponsors a "Salute to Veterans" at the foot of the monument at High Point State Park, the highest point in NJ. From there you can see 3 states...
I need to replace the nut (2) on transfer case end end of the parking brake cable. I know the TM shows a unique nut but I'd like to try to replace it with something fairly standard. None from my odd collection fit.
Can someone provide the size and thread pitch (1)?
Also, the TM suggests...
Since the Sussex and several other later show threads have started, seems like a good idea to start one for Redball's Jim Thorpe season opener.

I'm looking at one of these trailers and I can't quite get a handle on the measurements based on my M116a2. In particular, I'm trying to picture how regular A2 bows can be fitted.
If anyone knows these widths in the marked up photo, I'd appreciate hearing back. It'll save me bucking 2 1/2...
I know that the part numbers and appearances are different, but I'm wondering if these critical items match up:
Do stakes fit into stake pockets properly (both size into the pocket and distance on center between)?
Are the bows the same width?
Tarp?
I haven't been able to find a direct...
I reviewed the TM, looked at a bunch of photos, and I think I figured out that the surge brake assembly on the towing frame and the brake parts from the backing plate outward are the same on these 2 trailers.
Is that correct, or if I'm mistaken, could anyone point me to a reference?
Thanks...
I'm wondering if anyone might be able to say if this is a military trailer. I haven't been able to find one with this dualie configuration. I know the tires seem to be civilian. Doesn't look like an M310.
Thanks.
Steve
I'm wondering if anyone has tried this product.

They want a wash & wipe with mineral spirits before priming and painting. I'm thinking of this more for unpainted surfaces.
Thanks.

My friend Mike called, asking for any interested MV owners to join him at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ, for his annual Veteran’s Country Dance Show on Sunday, November 9th from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. I’m passing along the invitation to you.
Mike puts on a very resident-centric afternoon. He...
This is related to my post in the Gilbert thread trying to help a friend source replacement parts. I got the suggestion that the end assemblies from the a3 drop axle would work on the a2 axle. If I'm reading the TM correctly, the part numbers and mountings are the same from the backing plate...
I think there was a thread like this last year so I'm going to try to get one going this year. I figure that the more events that are added in one place, the better the chance of getting local MV owners to show up and support this worthy effort.
The NNJ 2014 drive will kick off this weekend in...
I'm trying to remedy a too-tight adjustment that dates back to swapping my transfer case. Seems all the adjustment was done at the cable and arm and the inner shoe was dragging.
I'm trying to go through the TM procedure but my cable is older and there's no clear 'start mark' where they say...
Mine went out on me this weekend. However, after reading all the alternator threads, I have reason to believe it's been failing for a while. I'm going to do some basics like cleaning the ground, running some of the tests mention in the TMs and threads, but before I make a decision on what to...
