    alternator burning

    I have a 1993 m35a3 with a cat 3116, the other morn I started it to warm up and noticed the alternator smoking and smelt like burning wire. I shut it down quickly but started hrs later to move truck and no smoking and the batteries gauge is charging normally. I don't know what's wrong with it...
