Our local Vietnam Veterans sponsored a mini "boot camp" for local youth this morning. I didn't know about the event until another local deuce owner approached me late yesterday evening. He was broke down and asked me to take my truck to the event. I was happy to help out the veterans any way...
Installed my new air pack today. Thought it would be a good time to inspect all the drive shaft bolts, when I noticed an open hole on the bottom of the bell housing. I'm assuming there should be a plug here? Where could I get one? What size is it?
It's not a big deal, but I would like to remove this ugly bracket to clean up the look of the passenger door. Anyone here done it? Any suggestions or problems encountered? I'm sure I will have to replace it with some flat stock, as the door is cut around it. Not really even sure what it is.
First off, let me say, the deuce probably wasn't the smartest choice for someone with Muscular Dystrophy (Adult onset FSH), but I had been looking at MVs for years and wanted something I could work on as time and health permitted. I am still in decent shape health wise and have no problem...
So I just painted my glove box assembly after sandblasting it. I had intended to put the old rubber seal back on the door, but when I dug it out today, I realized how bad it looked. The rubber itself is in decent shape, but it is caked with rust. Has anyone found a replacement seal for these, or...
So I decided to let my local machine shop tackle my air pack rebuild. I know, should have done it myself, but the combination of my health, work space, and too many other projects made the decision for me. So they called me and said a part was missing from the rebuild kit, to come and look at...
Okay, I posted something similar to this last year. My health has kept me from doing any work to the deuce, so I still haven't diagnosed the problem. The truck starts and runs fine, but when you shut off the engine, there is a loud gurgling noise that seems to be coming from the turbo slobber...
Okay, first off let me say, this will probably sound dumb to the pros on here, but I am confused. I am new to the deuces and still learning. So I noticed after driving the truck and shutting the engine off, you can hear what sounds like the oil draining and dripping back into the oil pan. I...
So a few months ago, I bought one of the dome lights from Matt (Vintage Iron). I was a little confused about how to ground it, So Matt and I both asked for pics and suggestions, and never got a response. I was unable to find the listing to update my install, so I thought I would post it here for...
Just bought a Solargizer IS-24-L to replace the dead one that came on my deuce. I have read the articles on the forum, but never found a clear explanation of the correct way to wire these across two batteries. I bought mine off **Bay. No instructions were included. Haven't had any luck with...
Got new battery terminals today, since mine were in bad shape and loose. Went out and installed them on the deuce. Dang! Batteries low. Just turned over a few times. Went back around to check my connections and found both batteries making a sizzling noise, much like the sound a battery makes...
Just bought my first deuce, a 1969 m35a2, so I have a lot of learning to do. The only complaint is that my brakes are REALLY soft. To the point that last time I drove it, I wasn't sure it would stop. Did notice that as I braked harder, just before coming to a stop, the truck would throttle up a...
Here is my first deuce. A 1969 A2. Back to it's original home state of Kentucky. Thanks to wbdisco for an awesome truck. First on the list: Just got the 17 piece cab weatherstrip kit from C&C Surplus. Should keep me busy for a couple weekends.
Just wanted to give a shout out to the Steel Soldiers. I will be hitting the big 40 in May and I've decided it is time I get a real big-boy's-toy. I am looking to buy my first M series truck. My first choice is probably and M35a3, but I love the look of the M923A2's. I would consider and A1 or...
