Here's the issue.
A few days ago someone turned over the truck while I had the hood up. I normally have ground cables everywhere, but the one to the engine block was disconnected. The one to the frame was not. I got big Sparks at the block jumping to the ground lead as it was running.
I'm...
I don't where, but my oil drops when I drive it.. I laid under it for nearly a half hour and no leaks. I put cardboard under it and revved it, no leaks. I drive it around the block, about 3 miles, lots of hills, lots of turbo boosting, come home, down a pint. Any ideas?
Went to Lowe's and bought a filter housing and cold air intake.
I put a 4 inch toilet flange on the empty headlight cutout with hardware cloth over it. A 4 to 7 inch duct adapter onto that. A piece of 7 inch duct trimmed to length into that. A 4 inch outlet cone filter is good fit into the duct...
My pump has been over flowing despite repeated purging / bleeding of the system. I just replaced the pump and need to try it. I am just wondering what would cause this? I do have a screen and magnet filter in the brake return line and the steering return run through the old in radiator...
Anyone know what thread the sensor in the front of the drivers head, above and ahead of the injector is? Tried to put a manual gauge in there and the thread was loose.
I've got a new injection pump installed. Once I test the injectors and get it running and warmed up, to time it, do I
advance the timing until it rattles a bit much, back it a mm and try it?
Am I trying for no gray smoke and low egts or is that to much to hope for?
Anyone know the procedure for removing and cleaning the injection pump inlet and outlet screens with the pump in the truck?
I'm thinking mine are plugged as I've had a cloud if white following me and now it won't start. Antifreeze stays up, so that's not the white smoke cause. Also, my fuel...
I have what may be low oil pressure. My gauge reads low, 30 psi cold, right near 0 warm, at idle. I say might because the gauge is electric and unproven. I put in an old mechanical gauge I had and it reads even lower, but it old, crusty and a cheapo besides.
This is the engine that lost its...
I figure this is good place to ask, as you all have a strong knowledge base and some professional experience.
What's a good Christmas unit that will work well and not need upgrading later?
Tried to make it down the road today. Having fuel issues. Diesel leaking past the o ring seals on the racor spin on filter, fuel injection return line on the driver's front leaking, replaced, and then popping off.
I bypassed the racor filter and when I cut the line it had pressure and sprayed...
My shift computer allows modifying shift points related to rpm. It needs tweaking, (not twerking, thank you spell check). What is a good rpm point for normal shifting for everyday and during towing?
Im looking for a good, universal shift point for my trans that has constant full line pressure...
Does the np205 require an extra cross member for support? Mine is in with the original.
Also, the original front drive shaft was reused, is that ok, as it was a tight fit length wise.
Is there one out there that will bolt to a 4l80e bell housing or something equally easy to generate a signal for a tach that reads number of teeth?
I've got an an old marine tach I want to run. It's clamped on the column already.
