I have a bunch of these lil military air compressors and decided to swap on a Predator engine from Harbor Freight after a friend did a similar swap.
Engine was $90 with a 2 year warranty after a 25% discount coupon the checkout person gave me.
Here are a couple quick pics, I'll post some more...
Even though this is mostly the "generator" forum.....
:-P
I'd thought I'd ask members thoughts on the small military hand truck style
air compressors. Doesn't seem to be too much talk about them.
I kind of took a fancy to them and collected a few different types with the 1A08 engine,
a few...
Has anyone heard of a conversion kit to mount a recoil starter onto a military standard
1A08 and 2A016 engine?
I've seen one advertised, never heard of it and so ordered one to try. Figure what's the worst that could
happen.....if it works I'll mount it to one of my air compressors.
Didn't...
Hey all, quick question thought someone might know.
I have been collecting the handtruck air compressors. Basically going back to 1965 with
the 1A08 engine. Plus the newer model with the Robin engine. And of course the diesel
model with the Yanmar L40. I really like the diesel model, great...
Any 2A016 engine users here?
I just picked up my first one. Came with a 1,500 watt 28 VDC gen set.
I checked it over, poured some gas in and it fired right up and purred!
Seems like a good little engine. Looking for any feedback anyone might
have on them.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm looking for a source for some 1A08 parts, preferably NOS.
Stuff that Satern Surplus no longer has, even though they might still
list it.......specifically spark plug wires and maybe carbs and some other
small parts.
I have maybe a half dozen of these engines, mostly on air compressors...
Hoping the wisdom here might be able to help.
Have a M1009 and it ran great. Both Gen lights worked properly. Bought the parts for the Dogleg mod and through them in the glove box. Then before I put it in my starter did its thing and fried. I replaced that and everything seemed good. Then the...
I ordered $145 worth of parts from CUCV Electric on Feb 18th after hearing about them on this board.
My M1009 is down, and I wanted to get it back on the road.
My payment went through and then it was crickets after that.
No response to email and their phone answering machine box is full...
Had my starter stick on me today. I was sick as a dog and really didn't need to get stranded.
Even had the conversion parts in the glove box. Had recently swapped in a new starter to add insult
to injury......time to swap in a new one now.....
Just do the conversion.............
Thanks to everyone who helped me with my cracked exhaust manifold.
Got that replaced but......
There is a fitting on the far left of the intake with two lines
going into it that is leaking diesel fuel.
Looking for the correct term/part number so I can get a replacement.
Comments welcome...
Well....I found my exhaust leak....
I have about a 3 inch crack in my exhaust manifold, in the center section.
Looking for advice.
Should I try to get it welded or simply replace it.
If I replace it, should I replace just the center section or the whole thing?
Where should I look for a...
Picked up an MEP-002A and it has foamy/milky oil on the dipstick.
A test run showed it to start/run fine but the dipstick oil
doesn't look good.
I'll drain the oil but any thoughts? Oil pressure on the gauge
was about 50 PSI.
thanks!
Question:
A friend has a MEP 701A (MEP 16B) 3kw diesel gen set with the Onan engine.
Battery in it reads about 4 volts.
Putting a slave cable to it, it starts right up and runs very nicely.
However, it dies as soon as you disconnect the slave cable. I did not see anything in
the manual for...
I came across four rims yesterday. They look like Deuce rims with a six hole pattern and
have 11.00x20 NDCC tires mounted on them.
But
the offset is different and you cannot run them as duals, the offset is not sufficient and
the tires hit. They appear to be riveted together.
what did I end...
Have a quick question for you M1009 owners.
I have heard a lot of people state they get 20 mpg or even slightly higher with their
M1009s.
Is this accurate?
I am averaging 15-16 mpg with mine on a mix of back road driving (45-55mph) and highway (65-70 mph as the speed limit here is 75mph and I...
