So I got a 0-350 psi gauge. Gauge come with the needle at 35 psi out of the box, so no accurate, but shows something.
C7 on "mode" shows about 30psi.
Main about 190 psi when Mode Off.
When I press Mode, Main pressure drops to about 110 psi.
To me, this looks clearly like a big leak in C7 piston...
Ok. I bought off e-bay another valve assembly. It looks brand new, never installed. Coil 3.4 ohms.
I got also a PWM generator. 0-30 V and 0- 30 mA.
I hooked the PWM generator to the solenoid and I couldn't hear or see a thing.
Looks like my cheap voltmeter can show the voltage if it is there...
I checked with a hydraulic gauge (0-3500 psi) C7 and MAIN in the attached picture. The needle won't move at all in neutral, or in gear or in MODE. I confirmed that oil comes out the hose to purge the air. A 0-500 psi gauge would be more adequate but still no pressure at all.
I took again the...
You explain this to me in a previous post but couldn't understand and make correlations because I was looking on wrong diagrams.
Now with the diagram you just posted makes more sense. Thank you.
I took for 4 years industrial electronics classes in college, but that was 10years ago and never...
Ron,I look over the digram in the attached picture: I see solenoid hooked up to D1 and to the ground so I if I hook up a wire to D1 and another one to the ground, in my understanding I should have an appropriate signal. What I miss?
Thank you.
So maybe the TCU is reading impedance rather than resistance ?
I will definitely do the bulb test tomorrow!
I have a dielectric grease spray. Do you consider a good idea to spray contacts with that or not?
I was thinking the signal is DC, some square wave, from 0V to whatever 12v, and that gives % of duty cycle. I had no idea the signal is AC. I never set up the voltmeter below 20v DC and AC can measure only 200 and 300V, so no way to see anything. Looks like I have to invest in some more up to...
I found a 12v incandescent bulb with a 3.3ohm resistance and hooked it in A and B ports in transfer case harness plug for solenoid. It is doing nothing and the transmission gives right away the 4523 code (missing solenoid). Does not want to take it. Also I can not read any voltage in there. I...
also, what I find strange, is that even on black ice with all 4 wheels, there is no front wheel spinning. I mean 30% for front axle, in AWD, still there should be a front wheel spin on such low traction conditions. or not?
thank you Ron and GD. I had that very wrong. Should I delete the post so no other people get confused?
After the post, I disconnected the solenoid and I had same readings hihi, so I realized I was way off. And yes, a wire only should add more resistance.
I will check the harness for any rubbing...
Looking over schematics, I realized that port P and S, marked in white in the picture, connects directly to C7 solenoid. (a easy way to check for other things from this port)
I measured the resistance and I had 2.9 ohms. Resistance measured at solenoid directly is 3.6 ohms. So wire harness...
yep, I used a 50W 12v power source for short instances only to confirm movement in coil plunger, to make sure it is not stuck. 3 Ohms is like short circuit and will draw amps if given and burn. Then before installing I confirmed that resistance is the same. Thank you for tips.
Where you get all...
Yes, when I press MODE, the display changes 2-5 both stationary or while driving.
I have a patch of ice in my yard where the truck wont move, only spin both rear wheels (I have locker on rear). It is how I found out about the problem. So when I hit mode, still none of the front wheels spins...
C
Can you post some pictures with what you did to make that C7 to engage? I have same problem, no 50/50 when push mode. Front driveshaft is rocking but no continuos power. Thank you.
I would definitely buy one for the front axle. For the rear axle, I installed a Detroit.
Anyway with so many lmtv fmtv out there, torsen should sell well.
