The "standard" front housing part number is 7E6366. I recently found a used housing (part # 7E3864) that *looks* very similar.
(from pics online) The bolt pattern appears to be the same.
Does anyone have any idea if both parts are interchangeable?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Found this PDF that seems to have decent disassembly info. The steps are interlaced all over in different sections (typical though). I hope that this helps (not sure if DoD TMs are better/worse).
I have a hydraulic three arm puller that I bought at harbor freight. May be worthwhile for you. An electric heat gun may also help and they're relatively inexpensive. Sorry you're having a tough time with it... I assume that mine will be tough as well. 👍
The deletes may affect driveability. 😁. Thank you. Definitely looking into redoing the cooling system mods that you referenced elsewhere. My 3116 typically runs around 175ish degrees.
My disclaimer is that I have never seen the plate... But I've heard that the sprocket may be able to be pulled off and then perhaps heated to get back on. There's a JustAnswers thread somewhere (or akin to that site).
Hello
Just wondering if anyone has their old (cracked) front housing. I'm looking to repair a cracked one and then replace the one that's cracked on my engine.
Thanks for your time
Hello -
My M1081 has the cracked timing cover issue and is leaking oil. I prefer to TIG weld repair a broken cover so that I can (in theory) bulk up the weak areas and then replace the broken cover in a timely manner (versus waiting to repair mine etc)... So does anyone have a timing plate...
Yep exactly why I stated that components were one of the variables to charge amount. 👍
I do have the thick condenser to install... But the spec compressor is in (had to machine a bushing and relocate the idler pulley) because I think the comp bracket was aftermarket. The evap box is about to...
Unfortunately I am in the same situation when I will charge my system (still installing) Refrigerant amount will actually vary based on components and hose lengths. The best way is to use real gauges and watch pressures and temp to tweak.
I'm still in the process of installing my Gen2... But can you confirm that the system has enough refrigerant? That pressure switch may need to reach pressure before it will close and thereby engage the condenser fans. If your refrigerant is low it may not be building enough pressure. If...

Thank you for posting all this info. I have a quick question regarding the rebuild kits please.
The fan clutch in my M1081 died yesterday am and began to free spin just like yours. The difference from the details here is that I have the first/alternate...
Ah! The troop alarm wire was cut off when I got the vehicle. Perhaps the ends are shorting or something. I'll check and reply back when I'm able to peek. Thank you
