Reach out to Dustin at Feltz Tires, I'm replacing my dry rot originals right now. The guy is really knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. Shipped them all quickly and they were in great condition (for old pull offs)
@Coug and @HUMMER H1 thanks a bunch for the info on Dustin @ Feltz, I spent a productive half hour with him and he was very transparent on his tires, what the grades mean and how they're warehoused on-site. I asked about the BFG Bajas first but he didn't have enough for a set, so I just...
Oh good Lord that's my nightmare when I order sight unseen.... Thanks Coug, I did some searches here and either you or someone else in an older thread mentioned Feltz, so I was on their site yesterday. I will reach out to them tomorrow about that 2018 mfg guarantee, I like that plus their pricing.
Mogman you are correct, sometimes my poor ride sits in the garage for a month when I have alot cooking. In the back of my mind I knew they were below so-so but I was just fooling myself. Good intervention and I'm not going to wait around. My other two don't have those sidewall gashes but they...
Humvee Braintrust, I am looking for advice on something that seems related to this thread, on my 37" Goodyear Wrangler M/T military tires. With supplemental info and pics below, could I keep on driving on them given my driving habits or should I immediately get them swapped out before I kill...
It's been a while since my original posts but slowly been wrench turning on my new-to-me street queen Humvee. Mainly PMCS stuff, nothing too creative:
- Oil and filter change
- Air filter inspection.
- Transmission oil and filter change
- Transfer case, front and rear diff fluid changes
-...
Hello Lit_Armo, i ran into the exact same problem that you described on my '93 M998A1 - everything worked fine until one day it didn't (symptom you described). I followed great advice from my Steel Soldiers peers - verified continuity/condition of wires to all external lights, checked grounds...
Everyone,
I just wanted to close the loop as a courtesy to everyone's helpful advice. I ordered the cheaper turn signal from Big Mike's and they got it to me in 3-days which was great, but I intentionally sat on it because I wasn't ready to continue the half-day trace to find the root-cause...
I was thinking the same thing, country's Eastern Surplus site has the manufacturer in Aurora IL and it looks like the SN and part# are stamped on it, so maybe it's legit OK.
country, thank you for your helpful reply. I have to check your site out. I don't know why this unit is so much cheaper than the stock one that came on my Humvee but you know what there are some things in life I'm not going to question....
Ajax MD thank you for the great news! I appreciate you sharing your experience, I'll check Big Mike's and Erik's MilSurp tonight. I would really like to move forward with my safety inspection and registration process. Have a good one
Hi everyone, well my turn signal and hazard functionality on my '94 M998A1 went south:
Left turn signal, green light on the unit blinked but faded until it didn't light up at all. The left front bulb blinked dimly but then faded out until it no longer lit up. Left rear never lit.
Right turn...
