    another fuel system ?

Get a clear line on the ip return and supply the inlet directly with a gravity fed can of fuel. That will tell you if it is the ip or the system. Look for bubbles in the ip return.

How can you tell which style you have? Are all the cucv's the same? Same as the hummer? Is the straight and angle difference in the injector or things like routing around the manifold?

I need troubleshooting help. tried everything

I thought by putting a clear hose on the return of the ip and not seeing any bubbles means there is not a problem with air. I am going to try to hook a fuel can directly to the inlet of the ip and see if it does anything. I will let all of you know tomorrow.

    Charging mystery

Its an old truck. I searched and chased my tail on similar problems. Check and double check the wires and terminals. Ricky the Redneck PO replaced a bunch of wires in mine and the terminal crimp jobs looked like a chimp did them. I fixed those and it is good.

changed timing, smoke cleared some, help me understand!

Today I ran it with new fuel. Same problem. From looking at the manual, it seems I should pull off the water pump plate and look at the alignment marks on the injection pump gear and cam gear. As acumunro said, the temp. fuel tank ran out very quickly without the return going to it. But...

air filter is off, everything looks clear. Replaced fuel filter, cut the old one open, no microbial growth. The diesel smells like diesel. Can I hook a line from a temp tank on my roof to the inlet side of the fuel pump? Would there be enough pressure? Or is there a better way to eliminate...
