    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

I might start looking at these guys. They have quite the selection, and it looks like they're putting more than the bare minimum into their product. But again! These are budget import winches! So yeah, double size them for sure. They do have a 20k lb winch or two! So yay...

    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

Yep. I mean look at it. Its still a chineese made winch with rock bottom features. 2k is just stupid money for what it is. I'm patient. Someone will do the exact same thing for 900 bucks again and eat their lunch. Really stupid move Sherpa.

    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

I was going to buy one of those 25k stallion winches, but they keep raising their prices. IMO, they've priced themselves out of their competitive category. I'd rather look for a worm drive winch with a much longer cable capacity now.

    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

Ah, found it. They're DP winches. Stupid expensive hydraulic winches. Dang, was hoping it was an electric one.

    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

Anyone have any idea what winch is on the JLTV? Didnt come up with anything in a google search. Maybe someone might recognize it. Its supposedly 18k lbs

My new hobby: Wood military vehicles

Your trucks are absolutely incredible! Very cool man! Very motivating. If you have any CAD skills, would you pretty please make and share files of a build? Like for a deuce maybe? 🥺 You could put the file package for sale too. I've always figured that if I ever started buying things from the...

    torque rod bushings

The fork probably will need to be a wee bit thicker for one or two of them. I hadn't thought of welding on a shim to make it thicker. Will likely do that.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Oooh! I like that setup. Looks a lot like the kind of stuff I do to my rigs. I never figured I could afford doing a plow setup on my truck, but that def looks doable.

    torque rod bushings

I bought a big chisel at harbor freight and milled the center out. Havent tested it yet though. Its just been too dang cold and shitty out to bother. None of my bushings are at risk yet anyway. We'll see how it goes. I made the same thing out of a big long sds max chisels too, in case I want to...

    Power Steering Possibility?

Safer to be short, so the ram doesn't crank the piss out of the joints against the stops.

    Power Steering Possibility?

Def interested in hearing how the single cylinder does. Mounting it will be so much easier, and unlike the full hydraulic steering type valve, your lock-to-lock turns of the wheel will stay the same. I think thats really the only complaint anyone had with the single ram. Is 8" going to be long...

    Power Steering Possibility?

I bought the weld on spline adapters on ebay. They're the same ones they sell on the distributor sites. They have their stuff on ebay too. One was 13/16-36 spline, the other 3/4-48 (late model). The new models are 3/4 on both ends. Otherwise, Im pretty sure they're the same. It doesn't look...

    Power Steering Possibility?

Update to the power steering I did. I had been experiencing some steering shake when turning the wheels while stopped or crawling slow. Its quite a diagnostics debacle that a lot of racers that use these sweet steering servos struggle with. After making sure all my steering gear had no slop...

    torque rod bushings

I've read/watched quite a few people's techniques on getting the rod joints out. So far, I havent seen anyone use a traditional style fork separator. Do they just get bent all to hell and not work? If turning the nut against some janky stacks of plates works, I don't see why not. Kind of...

cost of ownership (the real cost of a deuce)

It's been over a year now, so I just tallied up how much I've put into my deuce. Its an 1985 and was in pretty good shape. I bought it for 8k and then paid a buddy that used to work on trucks in the military to put the new heads on. Just needed gaskets, but new heads were quicker than getting...

    M35A2 tires / wheel combo

As for the difference between the two, I was honestly perfectly satisfied with the 11R20's singled out. Functionally, they're great, and ride very nicely. I only switched because a bud gave me a good deal on these A3 rims and I wanted another couple miles per hr. If I cant sell the old wheels, I...

    M35A2 tires / wheel combo

The dodge is having the AC replaced, so I really hustled to get the wheels done last night. About 10:00 I took the truck down to fill up. Noticed the ride was a wee bit more bouncy. Not unballaced, just kinda springy, otherwise great. They've got 50psi in em. Any other recommendations welcome...

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

I used a rock chisel and hammer. All the edges and tip on it were polished from use, and I was really careful. Took minimal effort, especially when applying gear oil as I went around. Made the beads slip right off. I also used the chisel to hop the bead over the turret nut too. Didnt mar...

    M35A2 tires / wheel combo

I got the first wheel put back together after I got home from work. Hoping to do one a day this week. My main issue with the A3 rims was the turret valve stems. They're 3/8 npt pipes, and normal schrader replacements are 30-40 bucks each. F-that. So what I did is cut the male threaded end off...

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

Ha, I spent a little while trying to break the bead on one for a while. Was slamming a 120 lb dumbell on it for a good half hr. I assumed there weren't inserts in there. I was wrong! Figured I'd share the method I used to put the beadlock inserts back in the new tires. Not sure how others have...
