Appreciate it man. It will be actually. Gonna move back to Maryland live with my wife's folks for a couple years. After we got married last october her dad pulled me aside and said "we plan on selling our house soon now that its about paid off but we want to give you guys the opportunity to move...
I'm okay with more frequent changeouts. Or even keeping a roll of this handy for a temporary fix to a leaking line if I get some better line and hose clamps in someday. I just needed something cheap and easy to get her running again without dumping diesel everywhere at my apartments.
Something...
Bit of a win today. Bought this Badger Diesel return line kit off Amazon for about $22. Guy from SS on Youtube recommended it. Put the kits cap on the back passenger injector, pulled the old line, sized, and cut a new return line to replace the one that was leaking.
No pesky hose clamps...
Hello everyone,
I finally got my 2013 truck in a better spot, I guess it was inevitable for the old CUCV to start having issues haha.
Since the weather's been nice and warm here, I have been running the truck for 30-40 minutes here and there to let the batteries charge, taking it to the gas...
Answered my own question - a pintle hitch attachment is what I'm gonna need to pull something like that. No problem.
And yep I am gonna try and see if her dad wouldn't mind pulling it with his truck for me, should be a breeze for his F350 and a hard trip for my GMC haha. He tows a camper a...
If I'm understanding the feet/adapter part right...
Take the D-rings off the front of the CUCV, insert the "feet adapters" with their pin (should be a 1" pin). The feet look something like below:
Then attach the tow bar to the feet with their own pin.
and I'm going to assume that round...
Howdy all! Happy holiday season - just wanted to toss it out there see if anybody had some ideas. The wife and I are gonna move back to Maryland in the spring of 2026 (about 470 miles up from where we are at now in NC). I've been looking around at ways I could get the CUCV home - uhaul seems out...
Been a while since an update. Have been working on my 2013 GMC 1500 (my daily) replacing the entire front suspension over a weekend. Finally got the money for the parts together and then the weather right over a weekend to get that done. Jack stands in a parking lot apartment - I had a lot of...
So I can get the steering wheel to lock, but I can turn the ignition cylinder with no key in it and the wheel unlocks with it. Super weird. I have seen a video of someone taking off the wheel and getting to the cylinder to replace it. I might look it up in the next month or two, the cylinder is...
Fun little update...
I can start the CUCV without a key. Found that out last weekend. I can just turn the ignition fins (not sure the exact name of that part) and the truck will fire right off. I'm assuming it's supposed to lock without the key... lube the key and run it through the pins a few...
I figured it would do what the GEN1 light does - it's on when the battery is on but the truck isn't running, but goes away once the truck fires up and starts spinning the alt.
I don't think I've ever seen the GEN2 light on, I assumed it burnt out when the guy before me converted to 12V, I...
Goofy thing is man I didn't really go off road or anything. Maybe the speed bumps at like 1-2mph? I crawled over em. I like to feel it roll from a stop now that I got her smoothly starting from a stop.
Just bought one! Checked the voltages and had 12.77 at the rear battery and 12.74 on the front battery.
Started the truck, the GEN1 light was on. Truck started just fine. Checked voltages again. I've got:
14.53 rear battery
14.6 front battery
And 29.15V on the pos/neg 24V bus..... is.... is my...
I had a feeling this morning to check on the CUCV and turn the key, I have a GEN1 light again. Super weird, maybe when I had it running after the swap it ended up charging up the battery and I get a light again? I'm still getting a multimeter after work today to verify my GEN1 charges the 12V...
Little bit of an update since memorial day...
I got a new coolant overflow jug in from RockAuto and put it on yesterday. The original bracket didn't like the angled mount of the new jug (old jug mount just went straight up, this one is at like a 45 degree angle), so I ziptied it in a few spots...
