Ah ok, that's what I figured since I could never find it for sale. And I remember reading about using ones for the 6.5. Same issue with the after market headers. The ones everybody talks about are no longer for sale since the company went out of business.
Thanks for the info! How is the acceleration with the swap? I dont have the 4.56 installed but I feel like the acceleration is really slow. Feels almost bogged down to me. Does the gearing and or 700r4 change the acceleration performance?
Side question on the turbo you want to buy. I was going...
Apologies upfront if these are stupid questions. I know very little about gearing.
The M1008 I bought had the 4.56 gear and Detroit locker removed and replaced with 3.73 gearing (If memory serves). I was looking at doing a 700R4 transmission swap and I wanted to know if I should put the gearing...
I hope this is not a stupid question but I was checking the coolant level and noticed the inside of the radiator. To me it looks like it has a lot of buildup. Adding a picture below. Just courius if this is an issue or not.
Update. I replaced all of the belts and everything is working like a champ now. The belt for the power steering was slipping so badly that I would basically lose power steering. But all is good now!
Ok, I ordered all new belts. I did the bleed procedure from the TM and it looks good so I know its not that. What I did notice is that the tension did look a little lose to me. So I went to tighten it and the adjustment bolt was only hand tight. Once I loosened it all the way I was unable to get...
The owner before me converted the truck to 12V. So now it only has the passenger side alternator. Will that affect the braking or steering other than the redundancy of having two belts?
I was working on my M1008 and I notice that I hear a belt squeak when I press the brake pedal. This happens both while in park and driving.
I am familiar with other belts squeaking but never from a brake pedal. Any ideas on what would be causing this?
Thanks Keith!
Got it. I was looking at some cool air intake mods and i had read something about people using Banks turbo.
Question, what do you mean by "Port Matching"?
I've been looking for some aftermarket headers for my M1008 and I keep coming across old posts about Stan's Headers. From what I can tell, Stan's Headers went out of business. Are there any alternatives?
Thanks in advance.
