Hello all, im trying to replace the worn out packard connectors on my wiring harness. I ordered new connectors but didn’t think ahead and consider the crimping tool. The DMC AF8 is cost prohibitive for my purpose. can anyone recommend an alternative? Would soldering all the connectors be a...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Received Western Kentucky fiberglass doors and prepped them for paint. Very happy with the service and quality of these doors. Painted bottom of hood, radiator, around air cleaner intake and painted shackles. Will paint exterior as soon as weather cooperates.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Good thinking. You talking about heater ducts or just air intake? I have something in air intake but never even thought of air ducts.

I have finally finished nearly all of the prep work on the exterior of the truck. Interior is already done. As soon as it warms up I will be painting HMMWV black. Then will be replacing all the shell connectors, installing Blue Ox soft top and Western Kentucky Hard doors.

Picked up an M1165 - Want to Restore it

Keep posting your progress and don’t forget photos. I am nearly done with my restoration and have to say that money aside, it has been well worth doing. The project was never and “investment “ but an experience. And having a civilian H1 is nice but it’s not a HMWWV and that’s what I wanted.

Glow plugs work first start only

If I use a battery kill switch it solves the problem of the wait light not flashing after the first start. Essentially it’s like disconnecting batteries each time. Are they any reasons that this is not an acceptable fix rather than a new box?

Glow plugs work first start only

Glow plugs work every time after I disconnect the battery and hook them back up. I base this on the fact that the wait light blinks, voltage meter fluctuates and the fact that the truck starts right up. however, once shut down, even if it is cold outside and the truck has not been started for a...
