Pulled mine out of the garage because I wanted to get it out and get the dust off it. The roof, skins and seals are a pain. But air ride seats are amazing.
Looking good. Still waiting on hinges to mount the doors but hopefully this week.
What are your plans for the cab weather strips? I wondered if paying for NOS ones is worth it or just create something from scratch.
Well I'm catching up. Just put the back on to see the best was to do it. Might leave a little floor on for strength but taking it all out would look cleaner. The put so much rubber back there where the floor meets the rest cab.
Helpful for sure! I don't have a donor cab so not sure what I'll have to do as I need to fab up my own door sill. I do have about a 3/4" drop to the rocker.
I have been going back and forth on whether or not to do suicide or regular doors but have been leaning towards suicide.
For my floor frame tacked up but still need to get my steel for the stringers.
Gotcha, I have an A2 so different location.
I didn't think I have nearly the floor rot that you have thankfully so not sure I will have to cut out that much.
What are you building from? A2 it A1? At the risk of sounding ignorant why the trans door? Sounds like the fender bolts were in your old floor that you are re doing? They don't look familiar
Is that a steelit type paint that is weldable? Was thinking it was just Rust-Oleum.
Finally got the rear cab off. That was frustrating. Having steel delivered tomorrow. Cross member should be here Friday.
Hard to tell what you are pointing at in those pics with it off the truck hah. I was planning on cutting here across. Seems like that is what you are describing.
I would appreciate it. I have already cut down the sides but still looking at the best way to do the bottom where I am not getting into the meat of it but have enough for the cab mount that will ultimately be in the center.
Following this build closely. I am in the process of doing one myself but a few steps behind you but what the cab stripped down and ready to cut the back off. I am planning on moving the rear section of the cab back and fabbing in-between. Currently looking for a cross member to put in the back...
