    Just got my first MV!

I seem to have developed a high idle after driving the truck for a extended period of time (30+ minutes). It will idle at about 1k to 1.5k and I have to put it in gear and let it down with the clutch to keep it down. Any ideas at what to look at?

    Just got my first MV!

Thanks for all the helpful advice! I'll be sure to keep the rolling back in the wrong gear in mind. I didnt get too much done on the truck this week, due to the rain I didn't get to do the winch brake tests. Anyhow I changed all three differential fluids, transfer case, and transmission fluids...

Good to know, I'll do both those tests on the brakes this week and let you know how it goes. Thanks

Maybe I'm confused as to what the brake should do as I have no winch experience. The winch when unwinding does brake itself if I pull the cable out too fast it seems. What I meant is when the winch is not in use I've accidentally stepped on the drum and spun it which I thought the brake would...

    Just got my first MV!

Yup I'm not too worried about it. I'm gonna use some seam sealer to get it all sealed up. I was thinking about making what you described for the windows but I'm not sure when I'll get to it. I'm just happy to have a hard top! The winch operation on the truck is definitely interesting...

    Just got my first MV!

Not that great if close the door with the windows up already. If I close the windows while the door is shut the seal in the corners are much better. I figured that was to be expected. I'm just gonna put some additional weather stripping to block the gaps

Got the roof put on last night. They're not exactly bolt on kits, definitely had to fight it a little bit.

What would you recommend doing? Replacing the brake lines and rebuilding the master cylinder?

    Am I missing something?

I just bought my first truck, an M813A1 5 ton. My experience was similar to yours, the best place to find a truck in my opinion is facebook marketplace and there are also a few groups on facebook that people list trucks in that wont pop up on marketplace. I found my truck on marketplace within a...

    Just got my first MV!

So after initially driving to Indiana to look at a M923A2 and figuring out the guy pretty much led me on about the condition of the original truck I wanted, I found a M813A1 in Iowa. I drove her home the 350 miles and she did great! Different model than I wanted but the winch was super enticing...

Things I need to do before I drive my M925a2 home

I am bringing along a led headlight kit from midwest military because one of the headlights on the truck is burnt out. Spare tire behind the cab looks brand new as well. I was going to go to harbor freight and pick up a 20 ton bottle jack as well as a jump pack starter. I'll be bringing a...

Things I need to do before I drive my M925a2 home

Hey guys, I'm flying out to go pick up my M925a2 home in a few weeks. Truck is running and drives, tires are like new. I was planning on greasing majority of the fittings and put diesel treatment into the tank. And I was going to check the fuel filters and drain out water. Other than that what...

    New member hello!

I've been a long time lurker of the forum! Located near Kansas City, MO. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a M923a2 as of now. Mostly wanting to use it as a toy hauler to the little sahara in Oklahoma and a parade truck!
