I'm an idiot and fried part of my fuse box.

Thanks for the encouragement. I don't want to part it out - its just the first few comments made it sound like the event was vehicular apocalypse. Nice 50 BMG by the way.

I'm an idiot and fried part of my fuse box.

Thanks Thanks guys. It sounds to me like I basically ruined the vehicle as it is my daily driver. That really sucks. I just got this thing as a few months ago and have put a pretty penny into it.... and then killed it. Anyone in MN need one for parts??

Thanks. I'll disconnect them immediately. It did make it 5 hours from Chippewa back to my place with a buddy of mine following me the whole way.

Yes. Turn signals work. Everything works except the brake lights.

I'm an idiot and fried part of my fuse box.

I'd hate for that to happen.... so its toast even though only the brake lights are not working? Everything else seems fine (besides the melty parts on the fuse box, of course.)

unfortunate So you're saying I really screwed the truck and that the cost is not worth it?

I'm an idiot and fried part of my fuse box.

I was in the middle of nowhere in Chippewa National Forest miles off some Forest Service road when the bearings in one of my alternators went - went to the point where the alternator totally seized. OK. Bad but I was prepared. I had an extra alternator in the back, so I stopped and swapped...

    m1009 Chirping like a cracked-out sparrow:

Pulley Thanks for the suggestion, but I think that's unlikely. My lack of intelligence did not allow me to notice the differences in the pulley sizes immediately so its been run off both the Autozone pulley, which is 1/4 inch smaller than the actual pulley, and the sound is there with both. My...

    m1009 Chirping like a cracked-out sparrow:

Thanks I'll get a stethoscope tomorrow. I guess to sum up my too long post - the sound only occurs when the driver side belt is attached, and the alt is brand new, and did it with two different brand new alts. Is there any chance that Autozone alts are so incredibly poor that two in a row...

    m1009 Chirping like a cracked-out sparrow:

OK. I'm going crazy not being able to figure out what's making this noise. Here's the story: 1) Driver alternator was bad. Volt regulator was going out. 2) I go to Autozone and get a new driver's side alt (DL 7157) and switch the pulley out to account for the difference in size 3) I replace...

    Generator lights

Flickering Cause Solved - belt was about to break - now it done broke I figured out why the light was flickering. I got the truck 2 weeks ago and the previous owner said it flickered to indicate that it was working - obviously not the case. It was flickering because the belt was about to bust...

Proper TM - Fuel Filter Priming

I'm trying to find which TM I should be looking in. I printed out TM 9-2320-289-4 today. I changed my fuel filter. I apparently am not priming the filter right. My truck won't start. I'm sifting through the TMs but am not finding what I need and am getting really frustrated. If someone could...

Gen Lights on after start Hey MTN - let me know what you find out. I just got an M1009 a week ago and while it seems to run like a top, the Gen 1 lights flicker at low speeds and is on at idle, however off at higher speeds. The guy I bought mine from said exactly what the guy you got yours...
