    Under water M38A1 :**

You are right, but they were told it was a no flood area. I lost a jeep, they lost everything in the gun shop. They did not have flood insurance, family ran gun shop, and a very good one. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

Was shown a photo yesterday of one of my M38A1s. it is one that I have on loan to our local gun shop. it is a non running, but very complete M38A1 with the machine gun mount, cradle, and a fiberglass 50 cal. It is used by them for advertisement. In the picture, after hurricane Florence passed...

Yes, the 870 was parkerized, and it took the M16 bayonet, but did not have the heat shields. Everyone I saw that was issued were nasty and abused. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

The only issue shotgun in Viet Nam??... there are pictures of the WWI M97 trench gun still in use with the american forces in Viet Nam....the Air force still had the WWII M12 shotguns up into the 1990s. The Marines had Remington build them M870 shotguns in 1968...and we were still using them up...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I have found WWII web gear still issued up into the early 90s while in the Marines. Being a collector, I made sure it was swiped out for the correct gear. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

Sounds spot on as a M38A1, The glove box is on the drivers side.....and the driver can reach it!!! No tailgate. First ones were made in June 0f 1952. While was in the Marines, I saw a deployed Seabee unit that had a June 1952 M38A1!!! It had to be one of the first ones made, and it was still in...

    M151 - Possible first MV?

The Marine FAVs I saw, no two were alike...everything home made. With that being said, this one just does not look correct from the pictures. In Jacksonville was a great guy and Marine who rented vehicles to movie companies. He passed away a couple of years ago, and all of his vehicles sold off...

    M151 - Possible first MV?

One of the Marines ( volunteers to help me with my small military museum) that comes over here to my place on weekends was telling me about that jeep a couple of weeks ago. I did not know the guy had it listed for sell. When I saw your post I knew it was the same jeep, but did not want to move...

    got a 63 M151 plus parts!

Just got a 1963 M151, with parts...I am looking at it as a save from the scrap dealer. Today we hauled 4 pickup truck loads of parts out of the building, and I am thinking maybe 3 more loads! Most of the stuff is NOS, but I am not a M151 guy so I am in the dark on some of the parts. I will keep...

    What is this?

you find a lot of Dodge command cars with the backs cut off making them into pick up trucks. After the war their was a BIG market for civilian cabs to be found and place on open cab Dodges, and open cab GMC (CCKW) 6x6s. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

    Hendersond's M38a1C

That looks like the complete rear spring set up on a M38A1C. I have one here the hardest part for me to find was the spare tire carrier for the side. On the rear springs, I got super lucky, I was just getting ready to by a "complete set" from a guy, but a friend found a NOS set, I bought the NOS...

    M37 Top

Back in the 70s, we would go out 4 wheeling in our jeeps, with the tops off. When we returned the tops would not fit back onto the jeeps. We would drive into the fire station, and turn the heat on. Later the tops would snap back on. One of the few, Frank USMC RET
