Thanks LH....still waiting for the other M-37 from Michigan...not sure where in North America it is right now. Mangus gave me some computer-savvy tips on re-sizing pics so now I'll be able to keep a photo record on the forum.
Once the battery tray was removed I inspected the floor in the battery box area...mild surface corrosion in a few areas that will clean up real well. I run a tap down all the nutplates to chase the threads and clean them up. Gonna get the tray powder coated...
No Kidding Longhunter...I paid $280. for the parts truck and @ $1000. to get it here...oh well...the gas tank is in superb shape as is the bedfloor....literally a ton of good parts...
Thanks Wyattearp....half the fun is cleaning it up and looking for "treasures" under the seats etc. The other one should be here tomorrow or Saturday...what fun. Thanks for the vote of support.
Well guys, the first M-37 is sitting in my hangar and it already smells like liquid wrench :D Only took about 5 minutes to have both doors off. Cab looks good, no rust under the seats, battery box is solid and lower corners are solid. Two rust thru spots each side of the cab vent but it's flat...
Well Gang,
Got a call from the Auto Transport/Hauler guy who confirmed he's gonna load up my M-37 Saturday the 29th of October and it will start its trip to Tucson.
Can't wait for it to get here and I'll take pictures of it on the hauling truck when it arrives. THEN....plenty of liquid...
Well, today I got pics of the project truck up in Colorado (it should be here 1st week of Nov) and it looks pretty good. Ex-USAF truck so I'll try to research its history. One day I hope to get mine as nice as yours.

I'm already glad I joined the forum....folks have been friendly and the source for tech info is priceless. I repair small airplanes for a business and always tell airplane owners to join "Type Clubs" like the Cessna Owners Group etc. Saves a ton of guesswork and money....

.....cool! I bought it after my Son spotted it on Ebay.....can't wait to get it ALL here and start wrenching :^) On another note...seems my first project INCLUDES the straight six w/tranny in the deal...said he'd put it all in the back for me.....
Well....since the cab and bed on my latest purchase were pretty rusty I decided to bid on another '53 M-37 and, you guessed it, I won that one too! So, it's in Colorado and I'll be heading up there at the end of the month to get it.
Got the latest parts truck with GREAT bed and very good cab...
Hi Gang,
Would GREATLY appreciate any suggestions on which company to use to ship my M-37 from Michigan to Tucson. Never had this done before.
