Yes, you are correct, the military paint is flatter. We have found that by using between a flat and semi-gloss it is easier to clean and doesn't scratch as easy. Thanks
We get all of the hard to get areas in the first round of priming and painting. Then the truck goes back into the paint booth and gets another 3 coats underneath after assembling most of the truck. We use the epoxy primer as added protection, the paint we use is apply to bare metal, does not...
First, in regards to the underneath, I am assuming you are referring to the pictures of when the truck was still being built. The entire truck got 3 coats of paint after those pictures were taken. There are not any bare spots and the primer was black epoxy.

The truck is getting lifted, new michelin xzl 16.00's, hemtt wheels, air assist steering, and a 5 ton steering wheel before being shipped to California. I will unload some pictures of the changes.
LKQ panels
LKQ has basically the nicest sheet metal available other than genuine GM. There panels are oe equivalent in quality. Just make sure you get the CAPA certified panels, they aren't much more money and the seconds or cheaper panels do not fit. We use well over a hundred LKQ panels...
Took the truck to supper again tonight, it sure is a head turner and a jaw dropper. Drove the truck 45 miles with no issues or problems. Runs and drives great.
