Mike,
Thanks for the reply. I am still planning on the roof lift of 4-6". I found a 1/8" thick alum pipe that looks like the same size as the corners so I may try that route and just weld a section of pipe into each corner. Bending sheet like you did looks to be past my capabilities! : ) I...
Mike,
Have I seen your second M1010 up for sale lately? I don't see the post today but seems like I saw one with your name on it a few weeks back....? Inquiring minds want to know.
I have my gutted the box and working on wiring today. Plan on leaving all the factory wiring in place from cab...
My plan is to cover the new filler like the drivers side in the last picture. My welding is terrible, especially in the aluminum but I will get batter as the work progresses.
I'm actually just finishing up the second tank install now because I had to custom fabricate the filler neck in the middle of travel soccer season and tennis season all before my youngest sons HS graduation.....it took me a long time. The fuel tank is the same one that fits the drivers side and...
I may do exactly that. Seems easier then sectioning the roof and would leave way more space for A/C and solar panels. Did you put a vent fan in yours? A/C? Whats brands? Inquiring Minds Want to Know!
If only I had your aluminum fabrication skills! I do have a TIG welder but am terrible at aluminum. It came with a wire feed that I have not tried yet in the 2 years that I have had it....maybe I should try that. I only need about 2 -3" lift for me to fit in there and My wife is about 4 "...
How hard was it to remove???? I am thinking of cutting a section from the center of the roof and raising it so I can walk the length of the box without worrying about my head hitting something. I might be able to support the back on that steel and the front on the factory A/C support. Possible...
I could not agree more but my wife gets 50% of the vote. I think I am looking for a 4L80 upgrade. I will eventually put the manual in my Suburban.
I did pull the interior out of the M1010 this week and am trying to decide what to do with the wiring. I hope to put a solar system in it and...
I finally got around to pulling the interior walls and started on the wiring. What a mess.
I did find some rust at the rear on the steel that supports the upper gurneys. I will clean it up and rewire before I install new insulation
.
Looking at the rear wheel wells makes me think if I added a few inches in height to them I could put a bigger tire in there. I wonder how big a tire would fit in the front with some trimming? The rear will be covered with cabinets and beds and would not be noticed. Maybe an easy way without...
