will Deuce glass fit M37 windshield frame?

db, putting a slight bevel on the edge of the laminated safety glass is something you can do yourself. maybe the guy didn't invest in a belt machine. not every shop has them any more, since there is not a lot of that type of work being done by most places. get some 120 grit wet or dry sandpaper...

So I guess my A1 is going 24v

since i'm not familiar with anything but M151's, pardon me if this is a dumb question. does your jeep use the same distributor, coil and wires, as well as spark plugs, that are used in my M151? i ask only because i bought a complete new set of NOS wires for my distributor last fall for $40 at...

    M725 engine and trans cost/availability

thanks again to all who contributed. i will keep track of the info provided, as i make my decision in this regard. it would have been helpful to obtain more cost info, but sometimes that's not forthcoming.

    M725 engine and trans cost/availability

my thanks to all who responded. NDT, do you know by chance, when these have been re-engined with the other types you mentioned, was it possible to use the original transmission and transfer? i am a purist with MV's, BUT who wants to spend that kind of money for an engine known for catastrophic...

    M725 engine and trans cost/availability

i'm giving some serious thought to an M725, but it would need a complete original engine and trans assembly. since i have never owned one of these, i'm unfamiliar with the suppliers and what is or isn't available. if any one could give me some idea of the costs i should expect for this parts...

    A 300 mile drive?

i routinely drive mine on I-5 in northern california, but i have real nice civilian tires, and i know the mechanical condition. while i can peg my speedo and keep it there, i don't do that, staying at 50 , because these engines aren't designed for that. for a 300 mile trip i would trailer it...

How/where re you guys mounting your license plates?

does anyone here know, or can anyone make reference to the applicable regs in california? i would prefer to carry the plates, rather than display them, as my M151 is completely stock and period correct in it's equipment.

What to put in a M151 for display?

check with jarhead out of nevada, or tony banks. they might have a lead for you. maybe also rainman on the 838.

What to put in a M151 for display?

yes, i would combine them, but i could not even GAG down the ham and lima beans. i also ate my share of the hershey tropical bars, reviled by many but tolerated by some. the white bread in a can always was crumbly, yet hard on the inside. how did they do that? last week at tower park i bought a...

What to put in a M151 for display?

one small clarification for my previous post---when i wrote "smokes and frags", i was referring to smoke grenades, not cigarettes. since i never smoked, i often traded my c rat smokes for fruit cocktail or peaches out of c rat meals to guys that were desperate for more smokes. and toptiger gets...

What to put in a M151 for display?

in my MP unit, we had RT524's, M60's on pedestals, flak jackets on the seat backs, a case of C's, extra canteens, steel pots with "MP" on the covers, road goggles on the steel pots, lots of ammo for the 60 and the M16's, but also some for the 45 pistols we wore. if it wasn't issued, we made a...

    M151A2's Finally Home

mark, the primary difficulty i faced during the install was the small spaces in which to place the various parts. once the cluster is removed, that is your only access point of any size at all. i had trouble getting my hands back in to the areas where i needed to connect the hoses and attach...

    Wrong front wiring harness?

yes you would, but you may consider it worth the expense. you would probably be able to sell your generator and regulator to help recoup some of the costs, and it would make your wiring job a bit easier. i believe that in my case, it was worth it, but then i'm running 2 MP lights, a siren and a...

    Wrong front wiring harness?

G.K.---if your assessment is correct, then what you need is one of those conversion kits i mentioned earlier. i have seen them crop up on ebay from time to time, so it might be worth your while to look there. you might also want to check in at 2 other MV sites, G838 is M151's only, and G503 is...

    M151A2's Finally Home

mark, think long and hard about installing the heater kit in the 151. it's not the easiest job i've ever done, and is not a real effective design, if the type you have is the hot water type, as opposed to the gas fired type.

    Wrong front wiring harness?

G.K., did the new harnesses have the part number tags still attached anywhere? i'm not able to tell which is correct for your jeep from experience, but i have the parts manuals and could look them up for you. the old turn signal set you show is the same as the one on my 1966 M151A1. if the...
