I have done the opposite on a m813 i made my wheel base longer. The cross member moves easily enough once all the rivets are out and i would highly recommend a mag drill to drill out the new holes. I would think the hardest part would be getting the drive line right.
I am slowly working on one mated to a 13 speed for my m813. Many of the old parts like the bellhouse and oil pan have swapped with some fabbing. But i cant yet speak to clearance issue with the truck yet.

I have the same crane model that am working to install on my truck, i believe the hoses are 1/2 bsp flat face. I also thought about going to npt but looking into the cost of converting it might be cheaper to run the British fitting. I'll let you know what i find out later this week
