    MEP-803A whole house standby generator

I was able to find a company that builds these tanks. I don't see any dimensions listed for the tanks though so I don't know if they would fit our 803s. Not sure if I can post a link to that website on here.

Hey everyone, I was able to successfully start the generator up and put a small load on it through the front 10 amp courtesy outlet. Thanks for all your advice on the project.

Thanks for the advice. I was out checking wires (before is started to rain) and found 4 more 20 AWG wires that were chewed up.

New to me MEP-803A with a charred ground

Thank you, all. I have my work cut out for me. Taking a four day weekend this next weekend so I should have some time to start doing this. Do you recommend replacing these wires end to end rather than a splice. That is my plan anyway, just wondering what your advice is? I did not think to hand...

Here is the first set. I believe these wires go to the current transformer. At least that is what I can tell by looking at wire numbers and the diagram.schematic

Am I missing anything before my startup.

Thanks Kloppk, The voltage regulator is not installed as of yet and have to look at the wiring diagram to know how to wire it up anyway. I will be putting it back together today. You were right, it is a lot easier to work on with the top removed.

Am I missing anything before my startup.

I have an 803 with 405 hours on it. When I got it, the thing was missing one panel and the voltage regulator, all fluids have been drained, the oil and fuel filters were also removed and the batteries were also removed. The fuel tank drain was also missing. I have a borescope and have looked...

    MEP-802A & 803A prices & repairability

I agree with what Guyfang said. Have a good look at it before you buy it to make sure all the parts are there. I'm dealing with this issue now. Didn't do my due diligence and bought an 803 that doesn't have a voltage regulator. So if anyone knows where to find a VR let me know.
