M1008 Electrical Problem. Motor keeps cranking when key is off

NO it is not modified and I haven't heard of the doghead mod. I know very little about electrical and I wasnt sure what was wrong or what to replace before I start ripping things apart. I will look into the relay mod tho.

M1008 Electrical Problem. Motor keeps cranking when key is off

I have been having trouble starting my M1008 lately. Thought it was the cold and a dying battery, so I charged them up and tried cranking it. I noticed a weird clicking noise seems like from the firewall but I couldn't tell from inside the truck. Then the truck kept cranking when I stopped...

    CUCV Front proportioning valve

Thanks I am slowing realizing the same thing. It appears that they used the same valve for 1/2 ton - 1 ton trucks. Hopefully it works. worst case I wasted $10 at the junk yard

Main black out light is rusted beyond repair

Just noticed my main blackout light in the grille didn't work. Upon further investigation, I found that the metal light bulb holder is completely rusted out along with the metal mounting brace. Anyone know where to get another one or best way to build one?

    Comparing m101a3 and m1101

Swiss is right. They weren't designed to dump, but can if desired and at your own risk. Aluminum is nice, but I hope you don't want to modify or fix anything on the box. You know how hard it is to weld aluminum??

    Comparing m101a3 and m1101

Also the 101's will dump. No such luck with the 1101 (as far as I know)

    Comparing m101a3 and m1101

Almost forgot. If you plan to cover the bed or your purchase doesn't have bows and railings it is much easier to make and/or purchase these items for the M101 series. They have basiclly kept the same compatiable style since the 1960's. If you don't want to spend the money buying pre-made...

    Comparing m101a3 and m1101

Welcome to the site. I currently own both. While I like the extra width and in bed tie downs in the M1101, I prefer the A3. It will depend on your application, but the extra width makes it harder to squeeze through tight spaces. I use mine in the woods to collect firewood though. You will...
