You are going to need grab some of the wiring componets so you can get power to your distributer. I would try and make the alternator and power steering pump that you have work on the new engine. I'm sure you will be able to fab the 6.2 brackets to work on the 350.
My 1008 is starting hard. It takes about two 5 second cranks to get it to fire up. It doesn't matter what the outside temperature is it still starts hard on 100 deg days. It starts up fine if I've been driving it, but if it sets for 6 hours or more it starts hard. Here's what I've done so...
I've had my truck working hard this past week. In this picture I have 3000lbs of seed along with 1000lbs of fuel. Squatting a little but not too bad.

Looks like a crack in the block. The only thing that should leak in that area would be water. I don't think the water will be able to mix with the oil from that crack. You should be fine, if the leak gets worse you could have someone braze it, or you could just try JB weld. I once had a hole...
Well I got the truck running tonight. I advanced the timing and took the air cleaner off and laid a gas soak rag over the intake and it fired right up. The timing is still off, but I don't for a pulse adapter for my timing light, so I'm going to take it down to a shop in town and have them set it.
I called the guy who rebuit the pump and he said I probably need to advance the pump more, even though the truck only has 37K on it and the last pump was lined up with the timing marks on the outside of the casing. I will mess around with it tonight and let you guys know.
Pulled the water pump off today, timing marks were lined up. It doesn't look like there is enough room for the gear to get off one tooth for those who were wondering. I'm guessing the timing in the pump is off. It was a rebuilt with a warranty, so I will be calling the diesel shop tomorrow...
I put all 3 bolts back in
I just went through my GP system a few weeks ago.
I have an electric fuel pump and I opened the screw until I had fuel running out.
The truck was running, but it had been starting real hard and I was getting debri in the check valve so I new the pump was on the...
It's the only thing that I can possibly think could be going wrong. When I went to put the pump back in I stuck a finger in on the gear and wiggled in a little to help the pump go back in. I could have gotten the dowel in the round hole and not the slot, but I'm not sure if the bolt holes...
I put a rebuilt ip in yesterday, and cracked the line and cranked the engine untill I got fuel coming out of each line. I tighten the lines back up and tried it, but it wouldn't start. It sounds like it wants to go, but just won't start up. I was wondering if I could have possibly got the...
If you have a stock engine, you don't have enough horse power to tear up a 208. The 208 has it's advatages and disadvantages. If you keep fluid in them they will last. They also have a lower range than the 205's. If this is a daily driver that sometimes gets put in 4wd I would stick with the...
It's the shifting fork, once the plastic protector wears out it doesn't take long till the fork is worn through and you will be forced to drive home in 4-lo. It's not hard to replace the forks, but these cases are a dime a dozen, so you could probably just pick one up. If you do choose to get...
I doubt a 2wd cab was put on a 4wd truck. I put a 86 2wd cab onto an 85 4wd and the floor humps are not the same (had to plasma both humps out and swap them). The 2wd cab will interfere with the transfer case. My guess is that they swapped vin numbers, I did this when I swapped my cabs.
