    Canvas Repair

It depends on how old the canvas is. If you go to push a sewing awl through and the threads break instead of allowing the point through, a patch is doubtful. I have sewed the rip together with thread and then placed a patch over it. I have taken another piece of canvas and cut a square patch...

Piston pin fit. How tight is too tight.

That’s not right. M37 pins are supposed to be the floating type. I had a machine shop install new piston bushings and then size them by reaming to the right size. After that you could push the pins in with not much force at all.

    G749 preservation

I have a M211 heater kit but it’s missing the angled scoop thing that bolts onto the hood. Can you take measurements of one so I can create one?

    M37 Horn Button

What am I doing wrong with my horn button? The old horn pieces were broken. I got a new kit for the horn button. I put the steering wheel over the steering shaft, then the metal horn finger thing, then the nut and tightened it all up. When I put the wire in place I have the split plastic...

Tool Set / Chest Needs Ride

I found a tool set in SW Michigan that could use a ride. If anyone is going nearby and could haul it to the South East, I could meet someplace. Or I will be at Hagerstown Military Flea Market next weekend October 14 - 17, if anyone is going that could haul it.

    M416 Axle Hub Seal Sleeve

Ah, I just figured out the M151 and M416 share the same bearings and seals. So you are talking about the wear sleeve for the M151. I might have one of those seal kits for the M151 someplace.

    M416 Axle Hub Seal Sleeve

Has anyone had to put a sleeve on the axle shaft/hub where the grease seal rides on the M416? I have been searching but no luck finding a number for a speedy sleeve to cover the groove the last seal(s) have created.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

That was sprayed out my normal cup sprayer. It sprayed great for a while and then was just spitting. Then I realized I had forgotten to turn on the compressor and had run out of air. Whoops! With the air back on it was good again.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I had never used Behr paint until today. I am getting along on my M37 restore and decided to add the two rear bumpers. They have been primed for over a year. Normally I use CGI paint and thin it to spray it. I do a fog coat and a second coat to paint. Stay in one spot too long and you get a...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Most people don't thin the paint but some add floetrol to help the paint laydown better. https://www.flood.com/products/paint-additives/floetrol-latex-based-paint-additive

My favorite touch is the weather proof covered electrical outlet on the side of the cab. What was that used for?

    1952 GMC M135

I could probably try to bend one up but if you have a spare heater scoop that you could send my way that would be great! Alan

    1952 GMC M135

Your truck has the heater. Can I get a picture of the scoop on the outside of the hood? Mine got lost and I would like measurements to make a new one.

Fuel pump glass bowl. Is there a filter?

Later or trucks that went through the rebuild in the 60's, they got rid of the filter on the firewall. There should be a filter in the fuel tank on the pickup tube. Lots of folks add an additional filter inline before the carb just to keep trash from these old system out of the carby.
