    M977 FOV maintenence

Spendy hobby! I should talk, I've got a couple of boats and at times have been airplane poor. Do you own the tracked vehicle in your avitar?

    M977 FOV maintenence

Stuart, Where did you work? How did you come to acquire a M977? What would something like that cost to purchase?

    M977 FOV maintenence

Stuart, I'm right there with you. I get board quickly and need something new to do. During a tour of John Deere manufacturing, the guide who was a retired worker said that he made fuel injection lines for 18 years. I thought that would be ****. It's been great visiting with you. Now I'm off...

    M977 FOV maintenence

Stuart, Thank! We have a lot of fun. Lots of projects. I personally worked on 39 R&D projects last year. Not all done but at least half. One of my staff found a 1979 patent on the jack concept. It looks like it is actually a double acting cylinder. It looks like the threaded part is actually...

    M977 FOV maintenence

Scott, I don't have a 977. I've just got to come up with a solution for what I think is the jack for the 977 and I have less than a week to do it in. I came on the forum to see if any of you had direct knowledge that could help me. If you know something about the jacks and pump that I have...

    M977 FOV maintenence

Stuart, I know what you mean about the threads on the ram. It looks like trouble. I was hoping to be able to change that with a rack or just holes and a pin. It would be a lot faster and wouldn't get fouled so easy. Cost of the commercial version isn't fully decided upon yet. we are still...

    M977 FOV maintenence

This is the only photo I have of the jack. Looks like a bunch of surplus units tossed in a pile.

    M977 FOV maintenence

We are working on the other photos. This is what the pump is supposed to look like? Ever seen one of these.

    M977 FOV maintenence

It's the real deal! It adjusts to the movement of the vehicle. It works on hill sides and it works very fast. It was originally designed for the up-armored HMMWV. Now we have 10 ton versions of it. I am just launching the commercial versions of this unit. I've had photos sent to me by guys in...

    M977 FOV maintenence

I have next to nothing at this point. I have some photos of surplus units. That gets me to. Why surplus them instead of recondition them. I'll see if I can get these photos scanned to a reasonable size and forward them to you.

    M977 FOV maintenence

It's unclear about what is standard equipment. What I have deduced so far is that there are one or two hydraulic rams used as jacks that attach to a single hand operated pump that has two outlets.

    M977 FOV maintenence

I need to talk with some people that have experience jacking or lifting the M977 FOV. I need to find out how the jacks work and if there are any problems with the current system. Any insights would be helpful.

    Hmmwv

Bogibar- I remember seeing ads for jeeps for $50 when I was in high school in the 60's. My friends and I were avid 4X4 guys but a WWII jeep for 50 bucks seemed to good to be true.

    Hmmwv

It sounds like some of you have got lots of field experience. I'm looking for some people that can talk to me about some of the maintenance problems on the HMMWV as well as tracked vehicles such as the M1A1. I'm looking for ways to make life easier for our warfighters. I'm not sure that the...
