Towing a deuce on a trailer

My first thought was to tow it to the road however it is on a fairly steep grade with a no brake pedal as of now. I don't want it uphill from the nice f250. I will hopefully remedy this on Saturday with a pressure bleed. I am only looking for enough pedal to get about 1/4 mile down to the road...

Towing a deuce on a trailer

Drw truck? Is that dual rear wheel? I was under that same assumption after reading the gross capacity on the f250 diesel.

Towing a deuce on a trailer

Unfortunately there are barely people around the area let alone contractors. The only trucks I see are full of mining equipment both ways. It's the kind of place where you know people have the stuff and can do it, but I don't know any of them, and don't have the means to make friends with the...

Towing a deuce on a trailer

I need to go 250 miles. Lots of up and down through either route. One is mostly interstate and one is mostly two lane highway. Hopefully after I transport the truck, I will be able to keep it serviced to drive the 250 miles if I need to again. Swbradly1 - I can afford the transport, but...

Towing a deuce on a trailer

I have searched the forums a bit but I can't find any threads addressing this specifically. My first question is, do any of you know a good source for trailer and towing information? I am interested in moving a deuce on a trailer, but I have never done this before. Can anyone suggest the...

    Oil filter adapter kit.

Do jakonta's and westfolk's kits work with the 427 engine as well as the 465? I was under the impression that the filters are the same, but would like to make sure.

Can anyone tell me what batterys should be in my 71 deuce

I used two group 27's from walmart. They cost me about $88 a piece if I remember correctly. Worked great. 880 cold cranking amps each.

    colorado insurance on the deuce

No I'm pretty sure the searches don't work above 5280'. I always love the posts that add nothing. Yea we know where the search is. Glad we have someone from out of town to explain to us hicks out west. Does it ever hurt to answer a question again? And if so maybe link to an old thread would be...

    colorado insurance on the deuce

Looks like I need to be making friends with that guy. I could use some major brake repairs myself. Hopefully he can be persuaded with homebrew. ;) I actually went to see my truck last weekend. I had the intention of using my new power bleeder (thanks Recovery4x4) but I was side tracked by the...

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

Good work getting it back to operational. May I ask about how long it took you to do the labor? Also about how much did you spend for new parts?

    Newbie Hunting for a M109

The biggest thing to watch out for? Your budget. That will be the first thing to deteriorate.

No longer stuck in river by grand island nebraska

I felt as though there had to be a little work involved in getting her stuck. The brakes would send you down pretty quick if they locked up. Glad to hear you got it taken care of! Exciting post!

No longer stuck in river by grand island nebraska

Did you stop your truck or stall out or what? What was the initial cause? It seems deep and thick but I would think if you kept moving you would be okay.

Jack for a Deuce and a half

Perhaps you are correct soldier. I didnt do as thorough of a search as you may have done. I did however use the search function on this website and found a few threads one wheels torque specs. They were all over the place ranging from m37 and other vehicles. I think if you search a thread...

Jack for a Deuce and a half

Well you would have to know the torque before you get the flat. I agree I just tighten the **** out of them and then recheck, but I know what my impact is rated to (approx). I'm almost positive there is a TM out there with a proper torque spec, but I don't know which one. The proper way would...

    Brake hose failure...new hose!

I am not sure about this as a possibility, however I often use nice wonderful Swagelok at my work. This is rated at a minimum of 3000psi constantly for our applications. I'm sure its burst pressure is higher. I know they have braided stainless flex lines in various sizes. I know people here are...

Jack for a Deuce and a half

Hey, near you and have done some work on my tires. I used the cheap 20ton harbor freight bottle jack. However I would ask if anyone has experience with an air powered hydraulic jack? I know they exist and all but I want to know if anyone has used the deuce itself (air) to lift itself. And then...

Slow Recovery, No Brakes, Dry Rot Tires

Thanks for the responses. I planned on bringing a cheap hone set from harbor freight. I too think I would rather use new WC's however I figured cheap rebuild kits may be enough to get me by until trailered home. I respect the ideas to have my deuce towed either by tractor or tow bar, but I am...

Slow Recovery, No Brakes, Dry Rot Tires

Thanks for the ideas on the hot wrench and extinguisher. Also I will have vice grips. I'll take the Pb blaster and wd-40. Fortunately I had only surface rust and bolts moved fairly easily last time. Always be prepared though. My thought behind the speed bleeders was to bleed all the cylinders...
