    Help in western Arkansas?

Yeah, she has a charger and I believe she's already on that, just trying to find someone willing to find and fix the cause... the only person there she knew to ask basically told her "I don't work on old stuff, it's too hard". .... there are literally free instruction manuals for everything on...

    Help in western Arkansas?

I have a friend in Greenwood, about 15min from Fort Chaffee with an m1009 that's having charging problems. Both alternators have been rebuilt (I think) and at least one belt was replaced just before she drove it across the state from jonesboro. When she shut it off, it's deader than a hammer...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Swapped m1009 axles with an m1028 donor I bought, replaced differential oil with 75w90 full synthetic (plus additive in the front), all new front brakes, q78-16 TSL Swampers, waiting on a 6" lift so they'll stop rubbing lol. Added a 12k Badland winch, and next month will do a disc brake...

    Bumper mount tire carrier?

I'm looking at replacing the rear bumper on my m1009 with the step bumper from my m1028 parts truck. I'd like to mount a swingaway spare tire carrier. Knowing that the body sheet metal isn't made to support that weight, does anyone know a specific application that will mount only to the step...

M1009 transmission service.. hopefully a bad joke?

Likely the shipping plug that was pushed out the first time a dipstick was inserted into the tube. Found the same thing in a 96 Chevy I had.

    Gateway Buckshots?

I looked up Hesselbein, it seems to be linking me back through Gateway tire. We have one of those in town, guess I should just go ask lol.

    Gateway Buckshots?

Thanks! I was hoping for Q78 or R78, but that's awesome that they're still available.

    Gateway Buckshots?

Can you still get the co-op grip spur/ Gateway Buckshot tires? I'm swapping m1028 axles into my m1009 and would really like a set of Q78-16 buckshots, but the only thing I can find online is Super Swampers. Interco makes a good tire, but I really like those DEEP lug bias Buckshots.

    Starter runon...sorta.

But it's spinning as soon as I make the battery connection...no key in the ignition. isn't that wire to the solenoid supposed to be de-energized until the key is turn d?

    Starter runon...sorta.

Starter was going out, classic "smack it with a hammer and it'll crank" GM starter issue. I DO have the Doghead relay mod done. No other issues. I went to the local starter/alternator shop and bought a Model 6598R 24v starter (Brown box, don't know manufacturer). Hook big wire up, hook little...

    DIY m101 cover?

Well, I don't have a boat upholstery shop nearby, but I do know how to install grommets so... Thanks.

    DIY m101 cover?

I have an early m101 with the curved brake handles, has sideboards but missing the top bows. I'm thinking of trying to diy a cover for it, has anyone done this? I have a pair of OD 20x20 12oz canvas tarps, one marked water resistant and one marked fire resistant, but I can't find a pic of what a...

    Troubleshooting MIL-9000 winch

I have a Warn MIL-9000 surplus winch mounted to my M1009 which I need to do some electrical troubleshooting on. The trouble is that the control pack is coated in some sort of rubber waterproofing. Has anyone got an easy method of clearing all that crap off so I can get to the wiring and contacts...
