M1009 startup then "stall out" Hard 2nd start then OK

I think "True Knight" hit the nail on the head here. Mine was doing the same thing and I modified mine just like he did...this should solve your problem. It cost me around 50$ because I already had some parts to do this. Its not hard to do at all. the new assembly will bolt right right to the...

    Scale gun models

@ Srjeeper: I like the M16A1 he has. I may just go with that because I can not find a decent M16/M203 anywhere within my budget. Thanks for the link.

    Scale gun models

I am looking for a scale model of an M16/M203 that was plastic that Academy produced several years back. I would like to have one just for display purposes in my military vehicle. Does anyone know where I can find this model? After doing some research it appears the company went out of business...

    Paint "freshening up"

I've tried the WD-40 and wasn't pleased at all with the outcome. I'll try the Armorall in a few spots just to see how it performs and if it's not up to par I'll try the diesel. At this point, stinking Armorall is cheaper than diesel anyways...lol I'll update this thread once I find something and...

    running rough

I'm also taking stab in the dark. My truck also came without the water sensor. A lot of people just take them off and if you don't seal that hole up properly it will certainly make your truck run rough, especially during start-ups. Does the "water in fuel" light stay on or does it go off after...

    Blower fan noise

Thanks guys. I think I'll just go with Jm's idea because drilling a hole and lubeing it would just be a temporary fix. It's not so bad right now but once summer gets here in the South I'll need that extra air flow. Can't beat a 20$ fix and hour of time anyways.

    Paint "freshening up"

I have the same problem. Washing it doesn't seem to help anything at all as far as the paint goes. I just use my garden hose anymore to wash it off because using a brush with detergent seems to make it worse. I was reading an article where the Huey gunship pilots in Vietnam would wipe their...

    Paint "freshening up"

I know this has been touched on a few times but nothing seems to work. I used the search function and saw where some people use WD-40 to freshen up their paint. I tried this method and was not pleased at all. My truck is painted solid CARC green and the drivers side is really blotchy. Obviously...

    Blower fan noise

Ever since purchasing my M1009 I've had a horrible (almost ear screeching) sound coming from the blower fan. It's a real pain in the butt. Since we had such a mild winter in the South, heat really wasn't an issue but now that summer is rolling around I need the fan just to keep air circulating...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I decided to post in this section to make it short and sweet. Anyways, long story short, ever since the purchase of my M1009 ive had issues with the fuel delivery system and trouble shot everything I knew so the next thing on the list was to change the fuel pump. No big deal right? Especially at...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Picked up a can of Line-X to coat the rear cargo area in my M1009 (which is pictured in my avatar), and a sanding block. I also ordered a new fuel pump which cost 26$ including S&H and should be here in the morning. Im hoping the Line-X will also add some sound barrier. I will try and take...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

@unaffiliated; Thanks for the tips. I knew there was a better way to do it but I had to do something as a quick fix so I could see at night...I'll go with your method as soon as I can get some time....

    Back to 3 Color Camo

I do have a question for you Craig! You can PM if you dont feel comfortble discussing this in the open. as you can see my truck (which is my avatar) is solid CARC green I would like to go with the 3 color camo such as yours. Can you tell me what I would be looking at as far as a repaint to the 3...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Adjusted my right side headlamp since it was shining almost strait down on the pavement and not out in front of the truck. As I got into it, it got more involved that I suspected. I was hoping I could just adjust the alignment screws. well, the screw that adjusted the beam from left to right...

Picked up a Huey UH-1B today

WOW!! I am in envy of you. its always been my dream just to fly in one of these. Theres nothing, AND I MEAN NOTHING like the sound of a Huey UH-1B through the UH-1H models. The N models just dont do it for me. This looks like a Charlie model from the cowling but you're the owner so you know...

    What a dead horse

@ 2INSANE; I tried your suggestion on the fuel filter and it was a no go. still a hard start with a good bit of white smoke with slight pumping on the pedal ....it was worth a try though...
