    9 series cargo question

I have no first hand experience with MVs yet, however I do have a lot of experience with lockers andin particular with the detroit. You should be able to order a brand new.locker for the rears through any good diff shop ( I can recommend Randy's Ring & Pinion). In light duty trucks the Detroit...

what is a fair price for a M812

Hmmm....let me rephrase to see if I can get a more specific repsonse...If YOU were looking for a Bridge truck in good repair, what would you be willing to pay.

what is a fair price for a M812

Looking at the M812 and am trying to determine what is a fair price for one in good operating condition. Ideally would be on 1400 super singles. Do not want the bridge section with it and can live without the stock pallet deck as it is too wide for my uses.

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

Ah I see....the more I find out the more I think I should go back to an old plan to get a Tatra 813 and put a hook lift on it. :)

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

Would you be able to explain what the difference is...don't they both use a Rockwell T-138 t case?

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

So did you weld your deck directly to the gib pole? Making my own deck on a 812 and running 395's sounds like a reasonable option for what I'm doing. Was thinking I would need to modify the stock pallet deck anyway, so aside from material cost, its easier to start from scratch. I know the...

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

I am taking in everyone's input and correction of my misconceptions.....one of the things that is a prime requirement is the ability to drop a pallet onto the ground for loading. So that does keep pulling me back to the 812. That said...if I were to out one on Super Singles running 395's...

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

Ahh I see said the blind man........well it appears that the old "picture is worth a thousand words", only holds true if you know what the **** you are looking at. Don't want to run I to issues with over width, and needing to call for a.permit every time I go out, so need to find a way to work...

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

73M819...I've been looking closely at photos and it looks like the over width issue is only with a bridge section mounted. The pallet deck itself appears to just cover the tires, so no wider than a drop side. Does anyone have any insight as to whether chains can be run on the rear with 1400's?

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

I've seen other threads in which the 250's have been successfully turbocharged. I am still leaning toward the 812 as it is standard transmission rather than the Allison auto and there is the big point to consider of availability. I believe it is the 945 that is the equivalent of the 812....not...

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

Didn't realize this about the over width....and as to the lack of.piston squirters....I thought this was the case only on the earliest of these engine?

M-812 Engine and wheel size questions

I'm looking at getting a M-812 Bridge Truck for use in my business. A bit of background on the application. I will be hauling loads in the 16-20K lb range max, possibly with a matching trailer with about 6K in the the trailer. Haul distances will be short. Approx 45-65 miles. The reason I...

    Tatra model

Thought I'd chime in on this topic. There's two sides to this. Solid axles are preferable from the standpoint of keeping maximum clearance under the chassis as the suspension flexes, and simplicity. As for independent; If you have the additional static ground clearance offered by the...

    tatra 813 new owner

Sorry but I have to point out to you that #10 on your list is two different countries. Canada has a long history of making military vehicles, planes and ships. We are neighbors and allies of the US but definitely have our own national identity.

    tatra 813 new owner

Its kinda tragic....I started looking seriously for a Tatra just recently, thinking it would take a while to find one and set up transport etc....Now I find one before I'm ready for it.........life's like that sometimes. I did find dozens of them up for auction....only problem they were in India.

    tatra 813 new owner

relatively close as compared to Europe, I'm about 4000 miles away from Pennsylvania  Still would likely be cheaper than having one shipped. Cheapest shipping estimate I've come up with so far to Vancouver BC which is the closest RO/RO port is about $9000CDN coming from Germany I'll...

    tatra 813 new owner

Thanks, I posted a couple of adds already...its sort of a snowball effect....I am resto-rodding a 74 ScoutII, it needs parts that are in my Jeep rockcrawler, this means the rockcrawler needs new axles, i.e. Rockwells, those make it hard to have a street legal truck so thus the need for a Tatra...

    tatra 813 new owner

Hi everyone, new to the site, actually found it looking for Tatra 813 Kolos' for sale. Congrats on your new toy...I am looking for one to use as a camping/tow rig for my rockcrawler. I've been in touch with Vermont Unimog already, but I was wondering if the movie vehicle company you got yours...
