    i just replaced the transmission, made up the three torsion rods, from scratch! as i ripped the bell housing off the old one made fresh brake lines for the rear disc conversion , from the frame line back, including gravel guards. putting stock exhaust back in after having 3" pipes rattling...

    i had a "slow" starter turn over nightmare also , my guy that rebuilds all my electrical stuff reccomended switching from the stock 27 mt to a 28 mt , now i just crack the key and off she goes

    oh i did the head gaskets too and when installing the new head bolts getting that number 12 bolt sequenced to the 90 ft lbs or so was a blast ... you need a socket which isnt short or deep hahaha. i think you mean studs reach further into the head yes ? as the head sits on the block if i did...

    i found more than 2 bolts on my power steering pump,, i actually counted 5 before my p/s pump was flopping around,, then i started slowly, and tightened the belt up then the driver altenator, then the passenger altenator ,, personally i would rather dangle my family jewels over a spinning...
