The holy grail known as the M101 canvas cover

I'm preferring canvas out of experience with canvas and inexperience with the vinyl... the canvas breathes, holds up in the Nevada sun, etc... anyone in a desert area prefer vinyl over canvas?

The holy grail known as the M101 canvas cover

Okay dudes, I give up. I'm usually pretty resourceful when it comes to stuff like this, but for some reason finding a tan canvas cover for an M101A1 has become an 8-month long process, and I still haven't found one yet. After about three months of searching, I finally made contact with Emily at...

    alternates for rope tie downs???

What's up with super rope saying "Cord is not to be knotted"? How are you supposed to use a rope you can't tie a knot on the end with :-x

    M101A1 brake handles & cables

That's pretty much the plan... I'm going to send the whole thing out to get blasted. I was going to do it myself in the garage, but that CARC paint is pretty nasty stuff, especially the '68 era stuff. Yeah I could use a good respirator and all, but then it'd be all over the garage, so...

    M101A1 brake handles & cables

I'm just kinda puzzled... even a quick look at ebay will show a coupla dozen M105 handles... big fat goose egg for 101s! I'll probably de-rust mine and use them... keep it original and all

To restore or rebuild... a newb's dilemma

Well here's the first wave of parts in... managed to scoop up TWO jack/wheels for sixty bucks... pretty good? They are from an M105, I'm guessing? Since the mount doesn't exist on my trailer, I'm thinking of just welding a piece of pipe with drilled holes in it for a mount... unless anyone has...

    M101A1 brake handles & cables

Is it just me, or are these things a rare find? I can't seem to find these anywhere, and mine are kinda ragged... I guess I could maybe salvage them with a wire wheel and some paint, but Id rather just get some new ones... anyone got any suggestions?

    Shrinking an M101

Doesn't that seem like an awful lot of unnecessary work tho... I mean yeah, I could turn a fire engine into a minivan if I wanted to I guess... but why not just buy a minivan heh

To restore or rebuild... a newb's dilemma

Man you guys rule... already got an offer from someone to send me the bows & gates for a hundred bucks + shipping... that's awesome. If that deal somehow falls through, I'll be in touch ;) I thought about it all day today, whether to customize or restore... and I'm gonna customize it. I kinda...

To restore or rebuild... a newb's dilemma

I've scoured ebay like a pro for weeks but have had no luck with bows/gates... they all ask for "local pickup only". The closest I came was a full set for $150 in Hesperia California, but that's a 7 hour round trip from Vegas. Boo. You might be on to something with cutting the wood off and just...
