That does sound more significant than any noises I've gotten, I'm A1R as well. I'm on a m1096 chassis though, so I have a high pinion diff(I think that was 2007 and later for the lmtvs) and probably a longer rear driveshaft.
I get a clunking from the front under sharp turns/high load, it's from the front leaves shifting around a little. I usually only does it once in a turn as the springs "seat" in their new location. Have had this on many leaf spring vehicles. I can get this when not in mode - although mode will...
I did. It's really simple when you figure out the correct parameter to change. You literally just change a drop down box from third gear to 6th gear, and then it won't downshift.
You do have to have the Allison software configured to allow reprogramming. I think the parameter was called "target...
I programmed mine not to downshift, I like the behavior far better. I can choose to downshift for more braking when required but I don't get the aggressive down shifting when I don't want it. 30,400lb m1096 C7.
Still wish the exhaust brake was more effective but we don't have Jake's so is what...
I went with this one and have been happy with it's performance, I'm using it for heating a coolant loop that warms water heater as well as going through a radiator with fans to warm the habitat air...
If you have a failed fuel sender, this one works. It doesn't have the low fuel light capability but other than that, good to go. You do have to wire it in. Isspro, part number RA9521-ISS-LP, $114
Connect to red and black wires. Blue is for the low fuel light. Sender wires are non polarized so...
Probably easiest option is swapping the trailer lights out for 12/24 volt types, then using a wiring converter (though those that are straight through wiring still look to be around $150 and up).
I went all out and got this one.
LEDs absolutely care about the voltage. There are LED lights out there that have the circuitry to accept multiple voltages but they are in the minority.
Totally happy, truck is way more balanced now. You will have more roll as you decreased the spring constant, not that I notice it as I have a heavy truck with high cg so I don't drive it like a sports car, it lifts the inner tires too early.
I would absolutely do it again. Those coil springs are...
More weekend camping trips turning out great! This campsite I was thankful for the steel construction, broke off a few branches.
We came upon a 3 LMTV convoy on our was back home, got some very odd looks when passing them at 70mph, thanks Eco hubs.
Original heater panel was in bad shape, cracked. I also didn't get a new panel in my AC kit and they seem to be unobtainable on their own. 3D printed a new one with transparent letters so the LED backlight would still work - although it doesn't end up lighting it very well. Old fan switch was a...
Have been doing a lot of boring stuff lately, pulling stock heater for future AC install, lining floor with vibration damping (the good, pricey stuff from resonix). Got the floormatt material from the same supplier to the military (supposedly-it does match the floor matt of my MTV). Installed...
So this issue with the flatness keeps going around but it's usually missing the point. Typically the measurement people reference is the sandwich plate and it's only about 1/2" thick. You can push on it with your hand and remove all that gap. The more important measurement is it's thickness...
