Could you to apply the following algorithm for generating a VIN for the DMV for these trailers:
VIN = MANUF + MODEL_NUMBER + MANUF. SERIAL NUMBER
Where:
MANUF = SE - Silver Eagle, etc.
MODEL_NUMBER = M1101, M1102, M101A1, etc.
E.g.
SEM110112345 <- Silver Eagle M1101 with manuf. serial...
I notice that the adapter harness link is broken. I can't find the original seller or product on eBay, but this seems to be another adapter that does the same thing. I can't vouch for its correct function however, so I just include it here as FYI.
Ack: I guess we cannot post eBay links to...
Mainsail, I love your license plate mount. I am going to 100% copy you. What is your local home store, Home Depot? I found that bracket on Amazon for $7.38...
With all due respect and props, that in no way is a good idea or safe as a permanent solution. Maybe in a pinch, but 1) you never should hook safety chains to the receiver and 2) if a cop sees it and cares, he'll nail you with improper towing.
This approach creates a single point of failure...
Is this the set up?

I don't know if you'd want to rely on that, not to mention letting a cop see that. As Mainsail points out the chains are too short: you need the chains to hook up to something other than the hitch because if the hitch...
Ha ha: something keeps getting messed up with the billing for my SF 97 so I still don't think they've started processing my request. Arg. Regardless, my trailer made it through Canadian and U.S. Customs without title, registration, or plates. I know I'm extremely lucky to not have been...
You can take the tarp off no problem at all: you unclip the external fasteners that go completely around the trailer where the tarp meets the side walls, and then some little twisty thingies inside in the top front and rear seams.
I would just leave the bows in place because the wind resistance...
Hello everyone,
I'd like to pass along some wisdom so that people will not blindly follow instructions during the bow and tarp installation and wind up with a top that's not practically removable. And moreover, not go through the **** I did trying to get the self-tapping screws installed, and...
I just towed my M1101 from JBLM to Calgary, AB. 720 miles, Sea level to 1400 meters. Needless to say it was pretty slow going up steep hills, and my fuel economy? Well I won't go there.
Tell me about it. I had the stealership install my towing wiring on my RR and it was around $800-$900. Had I known then what I do now...
Not sure... It's a regular axle I think. Perhaps you should take a look a the M1101/M1102 manual? I've attached what I've got for your convenience.
Mine...
See my thread for harness options: you can get an adapter so your RRS can power the lights of the M1101/2.

You can request an SF97 only after you've retrieved your property. Annoying, but...
I didn't have a problem extending my 10 days. Just call the number on your invoice (i.e. the number of the GL location you'll be picking it up at) and be nice, courteous and they should extend it for you. I requested a specific date, and Joyce (she works at JBLM) allowed it.
Out of curiosity...
The wheel is a 16.5" diameter rim, 8.5" width. You can put any tire you like on it. BUT, your choice for the 16.5" wheel is extremely limited =(. You probably want to hunt around for a rim size that gives you more options for smaller tires.
Got my trailer April 2nd and continued with it up into Canada. I squeezed through Canadian customs holding my breath.
I used the wiring adapter harness and all the lights are working well enough for me. There was a slight burning smell coming out of the axle or brake areas after prolonged use...
Are you looking to change rim/tire size to match your jeep? Sorry, if I'm missing something, I just tuned into this thread after a bit.
You can get loads of surplus 8 bolt HMMWV rims that are designed for the trailer... HMMWV wheel offets are somewhat unique so take note of the offset...
The third picture has the trailer with the Hutchinson 17s. Those rims are worth more than that trailer! rofl
That guy has too much money!
I definitely agree the matching paint is pretty awesome. "Metallic Pewter" isn't going to be easy to come by cheap I bet... And, I'd probably half to do...
