How did you find out which parts were the issue?
I was lucky to source TWO NEW ESD5551, installed one and the girl fired right up.
Ran for 5 min. I shut it down.
Now the FIRST new board does not show actuator light when cranking.
I have the manual, software, and anything else.
I can get just about any manual I want thru DOD channels, as I am a tier-1 prime for the Navy.
but I will only cut the section you need, as it still a restricted pub if complete,,
1. Why did you buy it? If you don't kneedm400 hz?
2. The b models are much cleaner design and easier to maintain.
And the JD engines are easy to get parts for.
I just took delivery of a new (yes, I said new) 805b.
do you need a copy of the CD that came with it?
the software that allows a laptop to monitor the controller?
ALLCON:
Just wanted to let you all know the zig-zag arrangement for the MEP-016b is explained in THIS thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?76248-Center-Tap-Neutral-for-016B&p=1226621&highlight=#post1226621
Cheers.
Check out another post I made concerning the MEP-016B generator wiring. Can be done easily if you posses the proper training, knowledge and tools. Google "push-pull" generator wiring.
MEP-805A is a John Deere Turbocharged "newer" diesel.
The MEP-005A is an old white/herculese engine (no turbo)
Also, the frame of the 005 is the old style doors and locks
The new 805 has the new style turn/click locks...and is q "TQ" unit to start with.
One last comment concerning load factors
This Gen-Set is conservatively rated at 8 HP...
Which translates to a total 5968 total watts can be deliverd by the engine at the flywheel.
Taking into account how conservative the engine rating is (add), and then subtracting the in-efficiencies...
Ground Problem Solved
Here is what I have found.
Refer to your TM. Figure 4-1, on page 4-3, (and taking into account the corrected terminal numbers on this page stated prior in this thread).
240 VAC Single Phase:
1. T-4 & T-6 are "grounded" to L0 by default (T-4 is ALWAYS connected to L0)...
Why L3 shows 120 VAC in 240 VAC single phase mode
L3 shows 120 VAC due to the A2M1 voltmeter leakage path that backfeeds L3. There should be no current to it. I am going to jumper contact 1/2 and run in 240 VAC mode, and see what L3 can handle with a load.
Stand by.
Questions...??
Look at this url. I have posted it in a location that you all can see it. It is a .pdf of what I am talkiing about.

240 vac explained...
OK. Here is the scoop.
Look at page 4-3 in your tech manuals (Army TM 5-6115-615-12)
1. 120 volt 3 phase (upper left): T-6 SHOULD be T5
2. 240 volt 1 phase (lower right): T2 SHOULD be T6
3. I am going to refer to windings in the stator of the generator end as (in...
