    Axle wind up

Has anyone ever experienced axle wind up from tires that aren’t exactly the same tread depth? I guess I’m not sure if that ever a problem with these trucks? I thought perhaps one should remove that rear drive shaft and run it with the forward rear axle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Progress

I had some Centari acrylic enamel mixed up years ago and I continued to use that. They stopped mixing that line of paint and I had to switch to Spies Hecker base/clear. I used a 20% matt clear. As for the actual color code, when I first started restoring the truck, I asked the paint rep for the...

    Proper timing.

The shielded plug wires don’t allow the typical timing light clip to be used. I think that’s why they made an adapter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Proper timing.

Hello all. Just fired up the GMC for the first time in forever. Runs excellent, but I want to run a timing light on it to get it dialed in properly. I’ve read there is an adapter to connect the light to #1 wire. How are others timing their trucks? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Project XM211

I purchased it back in 99. It was the last item a guy had from his brother that passed away (what he told me). Looked like he tried doing some work to it, but didn't have a lot of knowledge about paint or bodywork. This was back when I had way more money than sense!! I thought "man, I need...

    Project XM211

Making a list is a great idea. Just take it in steps at that point. It is close to finish. Yes, it has new canvas. It has every brake part replaced (that was a spicy meatball right there!!) I've pretty much done everything and anything to this truck. Made my own wiring harness too. One wire...

    Project XM211

I've been working on my truck off n on for years. I've never had the pleasure of actually driving it. It's about 75-80% complete. I did way more than a person should do to a truck like this! It's not restored perfectly, but I like how I did it. Sometimes I think I should sell it and let someone...

GMC owner/picture thread. Putting a face to the trucks

I'd love to take one with the truck!! Mine is stuck in the garage and no money to move forward with it! I'll do it one day when I get wheels on the beast!

    recommendations for restore

The best primer I can think of is A PPG product called DP90. The 90 is a flat black urethane primer. DP40 is a flat green. There are other colors also. This is a very durable product. It is on the expensive side, but well worth the investment!! Don't go cheap on this!

    Pinion seal local availability

I actually might have an extra one! I ordered some parts a while back and I think I got an extra one.

    1953 M135 Rebuild Project.

I was amazed at how simple the axles were! The whole truck for that matter!
