That's a good idea. I just couldn't check the truck out personally since I'm in school full time. Maybe I could find someone in the area to take a peek at it if I was interested in one?
I saw that one. Good luck with it! ;o
I figured as much. I guess that's part of the risk of buying through an auction...It seems less expensive that buying a truck off of someone, but you don't really know what you're getting unless you can look at it before you buy it. It seems kind of exciting, but it would suck getting a truck...
For those of you that have bought an M1009 from an auction, I was curious how many of you bid on a vehicle that didn't run and what your experience was with this. I've just been watching the auctions for a while and I've seen some good looking trucks, but the ones that run seem to be few and far...
I got a little sidetracked, but I took the car to get looked at yesterday. The guy at the shop took a look at it and told me it wasn't the strut. So the guy who looked at it before either had a slip of the tongue or didn't know what he was talking about.(I had no clue so I can't really say...
That's a pretty nice looking truck you got there. If I were you one of the first things I'd do would be to replace those seats with something that at least looks original to the truck. There's OD green stuff out there that's comfortable and looks authentic.
I had some pictures of an M1068 from my old unit back in 2007, so I figured I'd share them with you guys. They're not the best quality since I took them from a cell phone back then, but I tried to get as many pics as I could at the time.
I'd imagine it's not too hard to find. ;p
No problem! I tend to lurk auction sites and I thought this was unusual enough. Figured at least someone would be interested.
The dodge's aren't my favorite, but I know what you mean. I'm the same way looking at M1009's. I'm probably going to be...
I saw this pop up on an auction website. I didn't even know the military had any of these left...Looks like it's in decent shape as far as the body and paint goes though.
Nah, it's a military vehicle. Just one I'd never seen even when I was in the Army and didn't think the government had on the books anymore. The truck had DFEL sprayed on the bumper. Googled it and it came up with Directorate of Facilities Engineering & Logistics. I'm just surprised that this...
I've read the rules about posting about current GL auctions, but I vaguely remember reading something in regards to posting about rare or unique auctions. I searched the forum but I can't find where I saw that. Anyone have any idea where that's stated?
I got it looked at when I was down in Cincinnati and the guy said it just needed new bolts. He quoted me $65 for the labor because he said it'd take an hour to take it apart and get it back together. I'd get it done there but it's like two hours away, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to get a second...
I'd definitely appreciate it if you can. Just let me know what would work for you. The car's still drivable but I'm not exactly sure what parts it needs.
I don't think Mustang's have a TM, otherwise I might have a better idea of how to fix it. I'm just going based off what the mechanic said was banging around. I thought it was the exhaust at first, but apparently it was some part of the strut. I just wanna get this fixed before it gets to be such...
I might be asking in the wrong forum, but I'm looking for someone who's good with their hands that might be able to help me fix the strut on my Mustang. It's the front left strut and the bolts snapped right off. Wasn't really sure where to post asking for help, but I'll probably need it. Any...
Same deal here, except I'm in Columbus. I'm looking for people who share similar interests and might be able to teach me a thing or two about working on vehicles. I need some help fixing the strut on my Mustang but don't know where to start. >.>;
