What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Finally decided to troubleshoot my glow system. I had replaced the controller, relay, and plugs with known good ones out of the other truck. I still had an intermittent problem. While I was checking power/continuity/ground on the glow control connector I noticed the female terminals where the...

m1009 to use wheel spacers or not.

Wheel spacer input I'd like to insert myself into this topic. I put some ProComp Series 98 Rock Crawler, 16x8 rims (Part # PCW98-6883F) on my M1009 and the backspacing is 4". That's just too close, and I had to remove the lead balance weights to keep them from rubbing on the rod ends. So...

    Solargizer

Solargizer Technical Question I've read somewhere that if you have 12v batteries connected in series giving you 24v, and you also have one battery tapped for 12v, then you should be using a multi-bank charger. So the question is, if a guy had two IS-24-L (6-24v) chargers, are there any...

Aux Power and Switch Panel This weekend I built an aux power panel and switch panel. The fuse block I built is mounted on the right side of the heater box, just near the top (visible when you open the glove box or lay on the passenger floor. All wires stripped, crimped, soldered, and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

It was mostly a prototype, now I have an idea what I'm doing I'll be fabricating a center console. The civy plastic ones look good but aren't really that functional. A Metal box with holes, bars, brackets, and other goodness will be much more useful.

Civilian seats that work for the M1009 K5 Blazer?

Camaro Seats Installed no modifications. I've found alot of the GM seats use the same bolt pattern and spacing, on the seat itself. I just put camaro seats in my M1009 by swapping out and retaining the CUCV bases. Easy work and the holes line up no problem.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Overhead PALS/MOLLE Compatible Rack This weekend I crafted up an overhead rack out of aluminum angle and bar stock. I used 3/4" (1/8" thick) angle, 3/4" x 1/8" flat bar stock, about 36 rivets, my bench vise, hand drill, jigsaw, and RivNut tool. Primed with zinc chromate and painted with...
