In the WWII TM's, they state to drain the oil after shut down (with the temps you are talking about) and warm it up and dump it back in before start up. When they were building the ALCAN highway, they ended up keeping their vehicles running all the time during the winter.

You can certainly get gaskets for the truck. Olsen's gaskets can make them to order. The truck is staying put in Florida.

That is the remnants of a Garwood Crane. It had a very long boom, longer than the Ward LaFrance boom. John G

Any of the big trucks were slow, except the Diamond T wreckers with the Hercules RXC, they seem to get up to speed "quicker"
