Once again I want to thank everyone for their advice. Got all air leaks fixed. I ordered a NAPA DQ6020 lower repair kit and a NAPA DQ6026 upper repair kit for the Air Dryer/Purge Valve. The rebuilt job took me about an hour and everything worked at the end. Thanks again.
Just removed the dryer assy; no data plate. There are two numbers stamped into the dryer assembly cast body; one looks to be a part number N4250B so I assume the other number might be a serial number.
Yesterday I took my A3 out for about a 20 mile ride and the purge valve starting venting continuously. The TM troubleshooting section said to disconnect the air line from the purge valve and see if air stops coming out from the purge valve. There are 3 lines connected to the air dryer purge...
I'd like to thank everyone for their help and advice. You guys are great. Interesting that the TM did not address turning off the air valve to the steering assist system; when the air pressure came up, it was clear where the problem was. Thanks welldigger! It turns out the air input hose that...
I've made some progress. I closed the shutoff valve on the firewall for the steering assist system and the pressure came right up. Obviously I have a leak somewhere downstream from the shutoff valve. Tomorrow I'll check the lines with soapy water. Is it possible the leak could be within the...
Since my original post I had a suggestion to check the compressor air intake for a clog or restriction, but that turned out to be OK. I'm going to try each of the suggestions in the above posts today. BTW, I'm not familiar with "gladhands"; what are they? Thanks all,any and all ideas greatly...
When I started my M35A3 last week after sitting all winter, the air pressure didn't come up like it should. It's just below 60PSI. I checked for leaks by listening and the soapy water test with no leaks found. I drove the truck a couple of miles and the air pressure comes up to normal after a...
Yes I was buring road diesel andgot right at 10 mpg. My wife trailed me in our car and it looks like I averaged a little less than 50 mph. Looks like the truck's speedometer is about 5 mph off; according to the tuck's speedometer I was going between 50 and 55 MPH and according to our car I was...
Thanks for the info. I didn't think to check the filters when I bought it and took the seller at his word. I'll spend some time under the hood before posting additional questions. Thanks again.
Am new to military truck ownership. Yesterday I arrived at home with a 99 M35A3. The seller recommended I invest in a spin-on oil filer adapter kit. Is that the consensus and does anyone know where I can find one?
We made it back from North Carolina about 7PM last night. The trip went well; the truck ran perfectly. We didn't get done with the inspections and sale paperwork until about 4 PM on Friday, so we ran about 75 miles Friday afternoon. Then put in about 420 miles on Saturday. Not a trip I'd like to...
Does anyone have any information on getting insurance for an M35? My family car insurance is with GEICO and they won't even insure it without the driver having a CDL.
I'm new to Steel Soldiers and will purchase my 1st M35A3 this Thursday November 29th. I'll be driving my new purchase from Rockwell North Carolina to Louisville KY Thursday and Friday. Any thoughts and advise would be more than welcome.
