I did a axle swap on my M105. It wasn't very hard to do. I used the old springs took a couple leafs out. Added a 7000 lb axle with brakes. Works great now pull it with a excursion.

Thanks for the compliment. All the ideas came from this site just took the parts I was able to use.

I'm happy with the results. The modifications we performed lowered the trailer about 12". Built a ramp that when in the up position fits under the tarp and works well driving in 4 wheeler and motorcycle.

After installing the 68" axle if I were to do it again I would order a 72" Hub to Hub. There is enough room. Hope this helps.

Yep did the same thing with the springs took every other out think I got 3 out

the axle company I ordered from offered a heavy duty tube. I beefed it up a little by welding that piece of 4" pipe about 3/8 thick to the bottom for whatever it is worth. Was also able to use the stock U-bolts after cutting a bit more thread on them.

ok all is finished except paint. I will try and get some pictures but I basically cut the landing gear housing off at the frame. Welded a piece of 3/8" plate to beef up the frame and another flat triangular 1/4 to take the new jack stand. had to cut a 2 1/2" hole for that in that plate. If I...

Yes it is much more practical to use. Just got to deal with the landing gear and paint.

ok so welded a piece of 1/2" thick 4" pipe to the bottom of the axle to beef it up and get it closer to the original size axle. Then made the spring perches like the original ones welded them on. Made a ramp and there you have it. just got to figure out what to do with the landing gear. Also...

So I finally got to swapping out the axles. Got tired of stepping over the stupid thing in the garage. I can't believe how heavy the old axle is in this thing. only thing left to do is hook up the brake wires and swap out the landing gear. will take some pics.

I really wanted to put the same rims on it but it was way too expensive I was trying to save a buck by using this trailer and building it myself.

I've been spraying the bolts to remove the box and the axle. I have to set something up to get it off.

It was not an option. I really wanted to match the rims but could not. I settled for this cause it was the right price.

Sorry here is a picture of the trailer Ive used it a few times when I have to move some heavy loads. It does well fully loaded with firewood stacked to the gills! Cant wait to get the new axle on it with the brakes.
